Yakovlev Yak-50

Description

The Yakovlev Yak-50 aerobatic aircraft is a single-seat all-metal low-wing monoplane with exposed tail wheel. The control surfaces are fabric-covered to save weight. The aircraft is not equipped with flaps.

The Yak-50 has exceptionally fine handling characteristics enhanced by a relatively high power-to-weight ratio. It has a tough and agile airframe - the type was twice World Aerobatic Champion. It has been used as a military trainer by several countries.


Peformance

Top speed is about 200 knots, but beware, the engine overheats VERY quickly. Throttle should be at 0.10 in cruise. It handles fine.

You turn the aircraft via automatic differential braking. This means that it is very sluggish to turn. It turns better at low speeds.


Pilots Manual

Press 1 to start engine
Full back stick pressure
Throttle FULL


Note:Very multiplayer friendly. Zero pivots.

That shouldnt happen. The gear is fixed, there should be no way that the front gear could collapse. You might get a prop strike if you dont hold full back stick pressure when taking off though.
