Description
Continuing our research into the Mesozoic, we turn to the oceans of the Middle Triassic. With your help, we can complete our studies and bring back these ancient animals.

The focus of this collection is on the Northern coast of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean at the Besano Formation, between 235 and 247 million years ago. At the time, the region was a warm shallow sea, dotted with island chains and undersea valleys. Partially cut off from the rest of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean, it had a distinct chemistry and as a result, a unique community even for its day.

This collection is intended for most aquariums. Reaching rank 5 as well as observational data will be required to unlock the animals and some of the largest and smallest will need specialty beach tanks.

Animals under study:
Acrodus lateralis
Askeptosaurus italicus
Birgeria mougeoti
Bobasatrania ceresiensis
Ceratites semiornatus
Cyamodus hildegardis
Foreyia maxkuhni
Hescheleria rubeli
Mixosaurus cornalianus
Neusticosaurus edwardsi
Nothosaurus giganteus
Paraplacodus broilli
Peltopleurus lissocephalus
Saurichthys costasquamosus
Tanystropheus longobardicus

A big thanks to SynchroLight for making the Ichthyosaur’s rig and to Tintan for making Foreyia’s and Peltopleurus’s texture and a thanks to everyone for their kind words and support through all of this!

Anomalocaris canadensis! :] 24 Jul, 2023 @ 6:43am
Velociraptor mongoliensis, it's really you!

Reduced Bobasatrania's prey size, increased Saurichthys prey size and gave tanystropheus the ability to eat small fish and crustaceans
Velociraptor mongoliensis 27 Jul, 2021 @ 2:49pm
Wait, there are a few? i will try to search as much as i CAN

You are correct, though there are some modded tanks that are large enough. My Beach Tanks Expanded mod has quite a few tanks that can house a fully grown Nothosaurus

Dude, there's no tank in the office that is big enough for a fully grown notosaurus

Finally got Ceratites fixed up and released, now this pack is complete save for any bug fixes

And the update is out!

Only 4 animals this time, had some power outages and the 5th animal's file was corrupted, haven't determined yet if it is salvageable or if I'll need to make something new from scratch. I have some other stuff going on as well at this time, so I'll be taking a break from my weekly content releases to get all that addressed

Ooh, I'd really been hoping for a Tanystropheus and a placodont!

And we have launch! Just letting everyone know that a larger beach tank will be required for some of the later animals and a beach tank that unlocks at a lower level will be required to house Neusticosaurus at the rank it unlocks. My own beach tank mods should suffice but others may as well.

A big thanks to Flishster for going through the stats and to everyone for their art feed back!
