Underwater Tunnel

Description
Imagine a highspeed ride on the sea surface... this is now possible with

Futuristic Underwater Tunnel BETA
Although you barely can see it from above and the game does not display the water surface from below (not my fault^^) a cab ride in it is quite fun! :)
Some things and other "disadvantages" of this this early realease will get improved...

IT COMES WITH
  • An adjustable underwater rail tunnel (*Sea tunnel/ Unterwassertunnel/ Seetunnel/ Onderwatertunnel/ Tunnel sous-marin/ Túnel submarino/ 水下隧道) with two electrified high-speed rail tracks. *Road option(s) are under construction.
  • A fitting futuristic tunnel entrance for landside connection.

THIS FEATURES
  • lengths from 200m to 2000m (100m steps)
  • depths from -14m to -18m (1m steps)
  • suitable up to 450kmph
  • available from 2000
  • stand alone mod (no other mods needed)

USAGE
  1. The Tunnel can be found in Water > Buildings category "Icemaster".
    The construction is handled as a depot for ships. Click it.
  2. It is easier to see and place the tunnel with any overlay on! (eg. set height lines or track speeds on.)
    Zoom in/out to see whole tunnel.
  3. Choose lenght according to the distance from two shores where you want to place it.
  4. The main tunnel segment will align terrain under it.
    So it should be underwater between both endings!
  5. The endings are raising the the terain (where the rail connections are) and have to be placed on land.
    There is a 25m margin at each end where the shoreline should be.
  6. Placement takes a bit time and maybe take some "skills".
    But I think you'll get it. Slight differences in positioning, turning angle (with shift+M/N) and a bit patience should do it.
  7. Place it. Best with setting "Show Underground" on.
    Remove this option by configuring the tunnel after placing.
    This and Depth can also be edited later.
  8. I recommend a bit of terrain alignment around; especially smoothing to fit the surrounding terrain...
  9. Connect the underground tracks with a tunnel of choice or use the good fitting Compact Tunnel Entry.
  10. Let them trains go dive!

PLEASE NOTE
  • Some models will be added; others might be edited during developement.
  • The game itself does not display the water surface from below. We might have to "fake" it somehow...

Yeah I've tried messing with it a *lot* and it just does not show it as being valid unless it is entirely on land, tunnel and all. Tried various locations on the map, all different heights, lengths, nothing works. Maybe something else is causing it to not work, I don't know. But It will no go underwater no matter what I do, and I'm not entirely sure why

it does work. placing it takes maybe a bit time. try other lengths.. the ends have to be completely on land, the tunnel in water and the two shores in between.

Does this mod not work anymore? I can only build it when it's completely on land, otherwise it just says "Collision"

@Alpenheuler ist als track asset in vorbereitung. und die res/construction/seatunnel_track_assets.con.bak kann in seatunnel_track_assets.con umbenannt werden, um die alpha davon zu testen

Hallo Icemaster, tolle Mod, vielen Dank. Könntest du vielleicht noch die Option hinzufügen dass der Tunnel auch an der Oberfläche gebaut werden kann? Für ein futuristisches Szenario wäre das toll. lg

@icemaster, stdout.txt-Inhalt meldet = [RESOURCE ERROR] Referenced model not found: 'seatunnel/seatunnel_track_invisible.mdl' in 'seatunnel_invisible.lua' (has been replaced with fallback)
