Light in the East - The Ainu (Shakushain)

Description
Adds the Ainu led by Shakushain to Sid Meier's Civilization V.

The Ainu (Shakushain)
Iomante
Cities on or adjacent to Tundra or Snow will produce a unique Bear luxury Resource. When Ainu Military Units are killed or captured, their essence is returned to the Capital or nearest City through Yields.
Matagi Archer
The Matagi Archer is an Archer replacement unique to the Ainu. It is Weaker, but faster, and when stationed on an unimproved Animal Resource, it generates +1 Food and +1 Culture to the nearest Ainu City.
Heper Set
The Heper Set increases the Food production of a City as the regular Granary it replaces, speeding up the City's Growth, but additionally provides Faith from all Animal Resources.
Notes
  • This mod was authored and originally released by COF as part of the Light in the East project. It is now updated and re-released with his permission. The focus of this update is bugfixing, code optimization and various small changes. However, the original design and concept were left unchanged.
  • Support for Event and Decisions has been discontinued, but the original files and code is still included within the mod.
Changelog
  • Balance UA: Slightly increased the yields of the Unit Essence.
  • Balance UA: Unit Essence is no longer transferred to cities upon upgrading the unit.
  • Bugfix UB: Fixed issue where food on domestic Trade Routes was not working.
  • Bugfix UU: Fixed issue where the UU was neither weaker nor faster than the regular archer, which it says in the unit’s description it should be.
  • Bugfix UU: Added missing UnitGameplay2DScripts database entry.
  • Bugfix Text: Fixed issue with Diplomacy text not showing.
  • Bugfix Text: Fixed A LOT of typos.
  • Bugfix Misc: Removed rogue unused Promotions added to the database, which likely were a result of a copy-pasted file.
  • Bugfix Misc: Removed several duplicate files within the mod.
  • General Completely rewrote core framework (going from xml to sql).
  • General Optimized Lua code.
  • General Changed subculture to Japanese in JFD's Cultural Diversity mod.
  • General Deactivated the included Events and Decisions as I do no longer actively support the mod. However, the original files and code are still included within the mod and can easily be reactivated.
  • General Added further clarification of effects to help, strategy and trait text.

this is honestly one of my fave civs to play when going for faith. the heperset (its technically all one word in the ainu language but im a linguistics major so i doubt anyone else will notice lol) is SO GOOD for ensuring that early religion since shrines only produce 1 faith but if u settle well you can easily get double or triple that without sacrificing the pop growth benefit of building shrine before granary.

Stef, I think I mite have written to u on discord regarding updates for the other LITE civs, but maybe I just meant to and then forgot :p In any case, I won't be re-releasing the other LITE civs, as I did not have anything to do with them, whereas I was heavily involved in the creation of the Ainu.

Regarding the feedback, thanks a lot. I did notice the missing greeting and fixed it straightaway, however my internet was forking up and couldn't push the update at the time, but will do so now. Re the CulDiv support, I thot the subculture WAS set to Japanese(?) - will make sure it is for the update. Thanks for ur feedback :)

Two minor items of feedback:
- When first meeting The Ainu (AI), there wasn't any text.
- Could you add the Japanese subculture, supporting CulDiv v20?

Thanks!

@mitthrawnuruodo86 when your units are killed you get small bursts of production or food or whatever, just like how you get small amounts of gold when clearing barb camps etc

"When Ainu Military Units are killed or captured, their essence is returned to the Capital or nearest City through Yields"
Exactly how does this mechanic function? Is it just a bonus for that turn, is it permanent etc?
