Once you finish talking to the fisherman you will have to climb the mountain. once you try to do this, though, combine will attack you and try to kill you. if you survive them, you will notice that the stairs are gone. the puzzle now is trying to find out where to go. this is the easiest puzzle in the game for you just need to look around to find the answer. if you do look around you see two planks sticking out of the ground(not the ones from the stairs) leading to a path. you simply jump off of the planks and onto the path

after following the path from earlier and getting attacked by combine, you get to a church. inside the church is a metal tube. you are able to grab the metal plates that are on it, so grab those and toss them on the floor until you see the drill. once you have done that, you need to jam it. you may have noticed these gold/yellow stick-like objects on the ground. grab one, then wait for the drill to lift up so you can jam it in the tube and jam it. you need to keep holding it to be able to keep it in position.

now that you have jammed the drill, an ambush of toxic headcrabs and 2 different kinds of combine get let loose on you. the reason that you want this to happen is so a combine breaks down a door you need to go through, of which is opposite of the room from the drill. once you kill the combine that broke down the door(the only combine you actually need to kill in this ambush), you get to a balcony with a butt ton of rpg ammo. which can only mean one thing. helicopter time. once you blow it to pieces, you find yourself stuck on the balcony. if any combine shoot you from the roof, use your bazooka to kill them, for you have 389573947 ammo for it at that spot. once you are safe, just go in-between the balcony and the land through the crack and onto this wacky balancing spot. there are planks you can use to make it easier by placing them in front of you with your gravity gun, but you dont have to to beat this part. down there are two things for you to go to, land and something id rather not spoil for you. dont go to the land. once you get to that thing i said i wouldnt spoil you go somewhere and then finish the game.
