Elves of Calith

This mod adds a new unit for the High Elves and a new Legendary Lord for the Eataine faction

Created as part of the Modding Den's[discord.gg] January 2021 Mod Jam

Lore

Situated in the southmost tip of the Far East of the Warhammer World, the Gates of Calith are one of the numerous outposts of the Asur far away from their homeland of Ulthuan, Elven traders and travelers coming from and going to the eastern lands - and their many riches - usually pass through them to stop and rest. The Gates themselves are also fortified positions from which the High Elves can stop invaders from either side of them from attacking their colonies or even the Elven Homeland itself.

High Mage Torinubar
A new Legendary Lord for Eataine, recruitable from the start. Torinubar is the Mage Lord of the Gates of Calith, entrusted with the administration and defense of the fortified outpost. Being a High Mage, he is a skilled user of the lore of Qhaysh, High Magic. He's also a master of the art of Kineticism, weaving the energies of Qhaysh into waves of force for defensive or offensive purposes. Such his his mastery of this craft ( and some even say, his hubris ) that he never carries a sword into battle, choosing instead to fight using his mastery of the Kinetic Arts alone.

Calithian Gatekeepers
The elite guardians of the Gates of Calith, these Asur warriors are clad in armours made of a kind of enchanted Jade from the nearby Far Eastern realm of the Great Cathay. They have also adopted the Da Kan Dao - a powerful and heavy Cathayan sword designed mainly to fend off cavalry by slicing the mount's legs, but also quite handy against larger monsters - into their nimble two-handed sword fighting style, making for a swift and deadly combination. They can be recruited at any lvl2 Elven Port, excluding any landmark buildings.

REQUIREMENTS
Do not forget to subscribe to the VFX Mod! without it, some graphical effects related to Torinubar will not display in game.

Compatibility
Should be compatible with everything but overhaul mods like CTT, SFO and The End Times will require special compatibility patches to adjust the new units' stats to their particular balances.

Credits and Special Thanks

Phazer for his wonderful RME Tool, which allowed me to import most of the custom meshes used in this mod without going through a really tedious process or bothering someone to go through that tedious process

h3ro for the Asset Editor that allowed me to move the Amethyst Wizard animations into the hu1d Elven anim skeleton. Check that tool out, it's awesome.

Could you decrease the AI probability of recruiting the Gatekeepers? 1/3 to 1/2 of each HE army consist of these guys now, what really cripples the AI lategame.

Updated for the Rakarth patch, the bug where Torinubar's portraits wouldn't show up should be fixed now

No I won't be making a full faction of them for the moment, we'll see about game 3 when we get there, if you want to check out some new factions, get OvN Lost Factions, I do stuff there too.
