Description
Commander... i'm already an alien.

Adds Venom Snake's sharpnel horn from MGSV for your soldiers to violently shove through their skulls wear. Can be found in the Helmet & Face Prop sections, in 3 sizes.

While the original mod was still functional in WOTC, people were suggesting adding different horn sizes for the mod, but the creator has shown no interest in re-installing his mod tools to update the mod, and has said that anyone can modify it if they wish.

So i took it upon myself to release an updated version, with new horn sizes and the ability to wear it in any headgear slot you desire.

KNOWN ISSUES:

VERSION 1.1 (10/22/2023)
  • Added the horns to the lower face prop section.

  • Removed the armory UI script. It's now inserted via the XComGame.int file.

  • Un-ticked the sRGB flag for the UI icon's texture. UI textures aren't supposed to have this ticked as it makes them display darker than they should in the UI.

  • Cooked the mod... not that it matters since it's less than a megabyte in size anyway, but why not.

  • Removed un-needed .ini files.

I did a lot of cleaning up of the mod internally. Better naming conventions, cleaning up useless files, that kind of thing. Two things to be aware of:

1) - I've changed the body part names of the horns, as they were so generically named they actually ran the risk of conflicting with other body parts. This means you'll need to re-assign the horn to any soldiers who were wearing it before.

2) - I remade the modbuddy project for this mod, changing the DLC name from 'MGSV Horn' to 'MGSV_Venom_Horn', which means the game will throw a missing DLC warning if you go to load a save after this update. This can be safely ignored.

I did this because the original project had inconsistent internal names, which meant i couldn't implement X2ModBuildCommon which allows asset cooking, and because the original had a space in it's project name, which is generally a no-no when it comes to naming conventions.

I don't suppose you could make a voice pack for some characters of MGSV, such as Venom Snake, Miller, Ocelot?
