(The 1st Two Parts Of A "4X Game") 8_2 - Early (Normal) Warship Discovery (EWS)

Introduction: This mod is compiled from all my other mods, and then some. The TITLE of it says it all. This about exploring and expanding with deliberate changes to prevent earlier battles. It represents a huge tactical effort in choosing where to settle and in dealing with alien races in the galaxy.

NOTE: The Diverse Specials And Massive Planets (DSMP) mod will conflict with Galaxy Boost, as Galaxy Boost (included) does much the same as DSMP.

Use one of my Ship Speed mods if the ship speeds are too slow for your galaxy size; meaning one of these: 11_0, 11_1, 11_2, or 11_3. The default speed is "Slow."

IMPORTANT: When using this mod, please disable all my other mods except if noted otherwise (like for my Ship Speed Mods; i.e., 11_0, 11_1, 11_2, and/or 11_3). This mod includes my Galaxy Boost mod.

This mod will not function directly with the Spud Dasterly's Split Technology Tree, but there is a separate edition of this mod collection which does work with the popular Split Technology Tech Tree. Presently, this mod is not compatible with other mods which adjust the Technology Tree or Ship Blueprints.

Location - This mod should be located at the end of your mod list. It WILL make changes to the Technology Tree. If you want use any one of my four Ship Speed Mods (11_0, 11_1, 11_2, or 11_3), then place it AFTER this mod; otherwise ship speeds will be set to the basic game default values.

This mod does a lot! It will play much differently than you may be used to. It offers a totally new game play experience requiring much more tactical planning at the beginning of game.

Summary Of What This Mod Does:

NEW ITEMS:

01. The "Arcology" can be built on some hostile planets, making small worlds feel like big utopian wonders. This is a rare possibility, however. This has it own new image, so be sure you download my mod: "99_0 Chippoka Images For Mods."

02. A "Waste To Energy Generation" facility can be built on small worlds to reduce pollution and increase production.

04. The game can accommodate up to 13 A.I. players (races) in some instances.

05. Some of the older items deleted from the Tech Tree by the 5X Balance Mod were restored for discovery.

06. Three new planet sizes are added: Massive, Gigantic, Colossal.

07. There are fewer nebula during battles.

08. The Galaxy generator now produces galaxies which are more realistic in age and planet density.

09. There are no black holes.

10. There are lots of additional planetary specials and technologies as seen in other popular mods (from where these were adapted).

11. Larger ships require lots of command points; this increase tactics and reduces huge armies; preventing smaller ships from being too useless.

REGULAR ITEMS:

01. Deleted.

02. Scouts have their own unique engines for fast travel.

03. A new Booster Engine was added (Special Slot) for all ships.

04. Colony Ships cost more and have 3 new engines designs.

05. A new "Engine Core" is available at Battleship Technology. It provides VERY high combat movement.

06. Scanner ranges were reduce to promote tactics.

07. Scanner satellites have an improved scanner range.

08. Mines offers more credits.

09. For special "Events" there are better credit/population rewards.

10. Diplomacy was tweaked for better rewards for some cases.

___ a. The AI players will not pester you as much for open borders.
___ b. Technology deals are better, but don't last as long.
___ c. Killing enemies spies has little effect on relations.
___ d. Rejecting some deals is not as negative on relations.

11. The first third of the Technology Tree was reorganize.

12. The Advanced Colony Ship is available much earlier.

13. The Jump Gate has faster travel times (since everything else
is slower).

14. There is a new weapon with a short range, but fast rate-of-fire.

It is weak, but deadly at close range. Some of the AI players will use it.

15. The weak Siliciods were improved in their intelligence. They are geniuses at discovering new technologies in a random way.

16. The Klackons were improved in some of their attributes.

17. The pirates offer more people to rescue. Their treasures are improved.

18. For Pre-Warp, more money and people give at the beginning.

19. Because of slower tactical nature of the game, the pirates don't arrive later in game play.

20. The fusion beam weapon rate of fire was doubled.

21. Population growth rates and production rates were tweaked.

23. The AI races were configured to trade and use the new items.

24. The Antaran mine costs more, but naturally produces a high technology bonus as compared to the regular asteroid mine.

25. The game scoring settings were adjusted so that if you WIN your chosen Victory Condition, then you often WILL have the best score!

26. Deleted (Battle Scouts)

27. The Capital and Colonial Revenue Services Building provide more credits per turn; 5 and 2 respectively.

28. The teleport in combat is fairly instant with better range.
