Directions false, here are the actual steps;
Step 1: wait 500 years for a war between an alien species and humanity to happen
Step 2: nickname the alien species the covenant and they will also take the name because they are funny haha super epic halo fans
Step 3: travel to an eons old ring structure from another ancient alien species that no longer inhabits the ring
Step 4: battle covenant and then inspect where they were going and find parasite that can destroy entire species with one spore
Step 5: battle parasite, escape, fight more covenant, fight more parasite, do this for the next two games, recover cool ai buddy and finish the fight against parasite and covenant, board ship to escape ring destruction that you apparently did while finishing the fight against parasite
Step 6: ship gets cut in half and you are left adrift in space until 343 industries takes halo
