LX-8 Agamemnon

Description
Introducing the LX-8 Agamemnon, the latest build from Filbert Shipyards!

The LX-8 Agamemnon or 'Aggie' is a Quantum-powered battleship built for the Reforged Galaxy/Reforged EDEN mods made by Vermillion and Ravenff! (thank you content creators!!)

**UPDATE FOR 1.4 REFORGED**
I have updated the LX-8 Agamemnon for 1.4. The changes include adding a functional long-range radar dish, removing one plasma turret, adding 1 alien crew, and updating the warp drive and quantums to 1.4 models.

**UPDATE FOR AWESOME**
Check out the Orestes Tank, made by Darkest Warrior, a quantum HV tank built to match the aesthetic of the Agamemnon and still be small enough to fit into it's hangar bay!

Designed as an end-game Reforged CV capable of heavy combat while also providing all of the amenities you need in a mobile base. Put through its paces and combat-tested on the Anvil RE server, the Aggie is currently my home on the server. It features 2 Advanced constructors, a deconstructor, 36 grow plot farm, living quarters, loads of cargo storage, an ample SV/HV hangar and a large SV/(or small CV) landing pad.

Unlike my other reforged 'mobile base' CV the quickstrike, the Aggie is built for heavy combat. This CV has a heavy arsenal of weapons for taking out enemy CV's as well as numerous surfaces to place even more turrets as you upgrade it! The Aggie comes with 6 fixed Pulse Cannons, but has 6 extra 'slots' on its sides for more fixed weapons.

The other advantage this CV has over both the Quickstrike and the Claymore is agility. The Aggie can move really well for its size, top speed in four directions with only the strafe being a bit slow. Capable of marauder-style tactics or the 'death-roll' attacks on enemy CV's this ship can move! In keeping with my last reforged combat CV the Kestrel, i have placed a premium on thrust (mostly as i see proper thrust as being equal to or even more important that the weapon loadout on a combat CV) and on having a lot of pulse cannons to take off enemy shields!

In testing the Aggie took out multiple enemy types with ease in a variety of situations. As this is a 'quantum' battleship, most of the targets were legacy infectors and decimators. At one point i took on four infectors at once, with the main engagement really involving 3 on 1 with the fourth one randomly showing up occasionally to the party before wandering off again. The next test was with a group (LNC represent!) with two Aggies and a Skaar Kestrel against a pair of Decimators and a pair of Infectors that were 'stuck' at the core of an asteroid field within 1km of each other that refused to move. While their lack of movement might at first seem an advantage to us, it was quite the opposite. With so many targets so close to each other when we attack we faced the full force of all their combined weapons while our own were split up with only a few to target each individual enemy. Use of cover and in the end some maneuvers around them we won the day with only minor damage to our ships. Other targets include lesser Zirax and a couple matter converters. While i do feel this ship could handle a dreadnaught, i would recommend upgrading it with either more quantums or aux cores to fully outfit the turret count before attempting a battle unless you are using the Aggie as purely a combat ship rather than a mobile base as i am.

'The Quantum Issue'
When i set out to build this ship i didn't plan on it requiring quantums, however, after studying other heavy ship designs (and drooling over some like Jrandall's Trebuchet) i decided that in order for a ship of the size i wanted to have the thrust i desired for combat agility quantums would be unavoidable. This decision was made easier for me after play-testing the Skaar Kestrel which i found was the perfect tool for farming quantums from legacy infectors! The other reason i decided to go with quantums in the BP was the very nature of the expense of the ship itself. The thrusters and core systems ate up the entire base CPU (2.1mil) leaving nothing for features and weapons. I figured that if you are going to spend resources on a ship then it, like the Trebuchet, needs to be capable of fighting and functioning as-is when spawned and then have room for upgrades after the fact to increase its lethality and add extra functions like the repair bay.

This ship is a great tool that's fun to fly, nice to look at, and cozy to live in. It can serve multiple functions in your fleet and can allow for full nomad living with a single ship.

She works great. I only needed to change the vents on the large side thrusters to transparent to get working.

Nice! @RoY hope she works well for you! The 'Aggie' is from way back in 1.2, shes just over a year old so hopefully the old girl still has some fight in her :)

I recently spawned this on No Mans land reforged eden server as my End Game CV. Getting her ready for deep space missions . Adding more Quatum cores currently have 10 and adding turrets stocking up ammo etc.. Oh and have 3 radioisotope generators installed.

I have not since the most recent update. I do have around 10 extra quantum’s aboard, but I’m not maxed out on CPU. It will not be a quick fight, so don’t expect to just run in and duke it out. Feel free to message me for more info.

And to clarify things: Fil never built her to be a dedicated dread boat, she is more of an all around end game multi-functional ship. I just happen to absolutely love her and decided to fit a square peg into a round hole. So, no, out of the box she does need combat upgrades to get her fighting better. And with many of the updates she does struggle more than purpose built ships. But Ill keep flying her till the servers shut down.

I have no videos, nor a desire to start filming myself. She fights in a corkscrew pattern, Q D spacebar, using W and S to control distance. I use quantums over time to upgrade turrets and add additional turrets to the hull. I also swap out the artillery for other weapons.

I've got a buddy on the Anvil server that still uses this to kill dreads... Not sure whats up but i do know that i'd recommend adding more turrets and such before taking on anything too big with it. Try messaging ChumSickle if you are curious how to outfit one of these to the max as he has more flight time and has killed more stuff with his than anyone else i know of.

Thank you Grant, much appreciated!

Looks amazing and love that it is built with such a clear purpose. Your designs put you in the select group of builders that leave the other 95% of blueprints looking like Lego. (Not meaning to discourage anyone, hell I certainly couldn't do any better.)

This I've decided, is going to be my end game stretch goal ship. Thanks for sharing.

To update: This thing is now my dedicated Dread killer. I have upgraded mine to 24 pulse turrets and 24 missile turrets (plus what was already there). It has the speed, agility, and armor up front to handle a dread. Just keep moving (I use a Q+SpaceBar to rise and roll while using W and S to control distance).
The forward "crew room" can easily be converted to hold 2-3 additional large generators if additional power is needed for weapons. I also slapped one down in the roof of the hangar just to be sure.
