Description
What’s this?:
This is a Hotel, built in the style of Socialist Modernist Architecture, made famous in the former Soviet and Socialist countries between the 1960s – 1980s. This building, based on “Hotel Cracovia” in Kraków, Poland, is a concrete panelled building, the top floors of which are held up by flanking columns on both the left and right. Of course…it doesn’t HAVE to be a hotel…it can be whatever you want in your game…Office building? School? Whatever. Object can be found in the landmarks.

Main Mesh：3,711 Tris (has Diffuse, Specular, Normal and Illumination map)
LOD：128 Tris (has Diffuse, Specular, Normal and Illumination map)

Thank you for the kind words!! As a fan of the architectural style myself, I too want to see more of it in games, and I’ll be trying my best to get more out there! One area in particular I want to look at is “commercial” buildings. There’s a large lack of that on the workshop for anyone wanting to build a “Soviet city”, so I’d like to provide that for players!

As an admirer of socialist modernism, I am very happy that this architectural style remains alive, strong and present until today, even in games. We must not forget the grandeur that Soviet architecture brought to its cities. Today many buildings constructed at that time are poorly maintained, largely due to the neglect of governments and people (few but unfortunately able to come to power) who often prefer Germany from 1940 to the glorious past that their parents and grandparents helped to build in an egalitarian and strong nation that unfortunately had its problems, but it was better than the misery that existed and exist all over the West, even at the heart of the empire as we are seeing every day. Thanks for this nice work! Hope to see more!
