Description
Yemen, once called Arabia Felix (or Fortunate Arabia) by the Romans, has a complicated yet fascinating history. A land of dramatic, rocky peaks and fertile, monsoon-swept lowlands, Yemens unique geographic position has fostered a series of unique and powerful cultures over the centuries. Complex systems of irrigation and a regular monsoon season allowed Yemen to become one of the most densely populated places in Arabia. This economic powerhouse thus became a vital trading centre, linking the near east with India and China via a carefully maintained network of trade routes - largely trafficking the hugely valuable incense which is abundant across Yemen. Arwa al-Sulayhi rose to prominence during the 11th century, seizing the reigns of power upon the death of her husband in 1067. Her careful and firm rulership greatly expanded Yemeni influence in the region, seizing much of Hejaz, seeding a community of Zai'di converts in India and constructing mosques and castles which are still some of the most spectacular in the region. For her efforts, Arwa became the first woman in history to be named Hujjah - the closest living embodiment of God.

If you liked this mod, please consider chucking any amount of money towards helping the Yemeni people, who today are suffering one of the worst humanitarian disasters on earth, facing starvation, rampant disease and the constant threat of violence. A tiny amount can make a huge difference! Thanks <3 https://www.unicef.org.uk/donate/yemen/

UA: Compete - Never Envy
Acquiring a new Luxury provides a free trade unit and a burst of food in all cities adjacent to mountains. Trade routes grant additional food to their origin city when passing over desert tiles.

UB: Mud-Brick Skyscraper (Granary)
Cheaper than the granary, and costs no maintenance. Provides only +5% food, but may construct additional floors to increase this bonus. Also provides a source of fresh water and +2 local happiness when 5 floors are built.

UU: Bakil Highlander (Swordsman)
May claim adjacent desert or mountain tiles while fortified. Tiles acquired this way yield +1 food. Not slowed by hills.

@Akephalos,@ChipopHQ I know I am 3 years late, but it is just a bug. Maybe I'll help someone else. You need to open Yemendefines.sql with Notepad++ (for example) and change the description in section "Leader" from TXT_KEY_CIVILOPEDIA_LEADERS_URD_YEMEN_NAME to TXT_KEY_CIVILOPEDIA_LEADERS_URD_ARWA_NAME and name should be displayed correctly.

The bugs that Mud-brick skyscraper can be built by any civilisation can be solved by fixing YemenDefines.sql as follows:
1. 'BUILDINGCLASS_URD_YEMEN' -> 'BUILDINGCLASS_URD_MBS',
(There are 4 'BUILDINGCLASS_URD_YEMEN's in YemenDefines.sql)
2. 'BUILDING_URD_YEMEN' -> 'BUILDING_URD_ARWA_MBS',
3. replace
INSERT INTO Building_ClassesNeededInCity
(BuildingType, BuildingClassType)
VALUES ('BUILDING_URD_ARWA_MBS_2', 'BUILDINGCLASS_GRANARY'),
with
INSERT INTO Building_ClassesNeededInCity
(BuildingType, BuildingClassType)
VALUES ('BUILDING_URD_ARWA_MBS_2', 'BUILDINGCLASS_URD_MBS' ),

For those who don't see the mod in the list: you will have to extract the mod from the file that is downloaded when you subscribe. You can do this with programs like 7zip

@Akephalos Yep same for me too. I'm not sure if another mod is causing it or not yet though.

The name of the leader shows up as txt_key_civilopedia_leaders_urd_yemen_name for me, is anyone else having this problem?
