Improved Reliability Penalties

Description
Mod Version 1.1

Save Game Compatible (can disable and enable - your reliability will change once enabled)

What This Does

This mod reduces the penalties from the various acts of treachery so that you actually have to be a truly traitorous cur to end up with a totally tanked 'Very Low' rating that you can't recover from. This is changed from the default behaviour where it is simplicity itself to end up with a 'Very Low' rating.

Acts such as declaring war when you've got a non-aggression treaty will still lower your rating, but only somewhat, allowing you to recover from this relatively simply.

Declaring war on an ally will still give you a big penalty and will take you to 'Low'. Doing this again is going to take you down to Very Low and will take a long time to recover from (although not as long as vanilla) so think twice before being a serial betrayer!

It is not the aim of this mod to remove the penalties for treachery; instead, it's meant to make the whole thing much more manageable! Acts such as your ally declaring war on someone you have a NAP with aren't going to destroy your ability to do diplomacy - but acting dishonourably consistently still will.

Things to Bear in Mind
These modifiers stack (this is the default behaviour and why I think it's so easy to end up in a 'Very Low' black hole) - so if you declare war on an ally who has allies you have treaties with, you're going to count as breaking those too! If they've got lots of mutual friends you're going to find yourself with a ruined reliability. Think twice before doing so and make sure to break off any relevant treaties first (and be sure to wait the 10 turns before declaring war!)

Compatibility
Not compatible with any other mods that touch the treacheries tables - very few diplomacy mods do this that I'm aware of. Wouldn't be a game breaking conflict - whichever mod loaded first would just overwrite the other's changes.

Not currently compatible
Nikitian's 'Varied Treaties'.

Future Updates
Based on feedback this may end up being tweaked a bit.

I'm also considering the possibility of changing the duration of some of the default cooldowns for treaties - this is 10 turns for everything by default.

I had a High Elf faction randomly declare war on me (as empire) even though I had both a trade agreement and a non-aggression pact with them, and never did anything to them (since I was across the world from them). I got hit with the penalty even though they declared war on me. That brought me down to very low. I don't know if it is possible for you to do something about that, but if so, it would be appreciated.

I think that declaring war on someone you have a NAP with deserves the reliability hit. However, what's daft is taking a reliability hit for peacing out of a war before 10 turns, or subjugating/vassalizing someone before being at war for 10 turns.

Nice!

Yeah the vanilla rates were daft. Got a very low rating going to war when my ally was attacked by someone I had a non-aggression pact with. If any, I should be fucking gleaming in reliability haha
