Crypto Forest [OLD VERSION]

Something has gone wrong in Chip's tip forest.
The Hunters are not responding to radio calls,
Cabin residents have not returned home when planned,
And many trespassers have recorded weird sounds and sightings around the forest.





Crypto Forest is an open-world non-pvp horror-oriented 11000x8000 hammer unit map, set in a hotspot for cryptids and legends.

This map is heavily based on 2009 GTA:SA fake Myth & Legends videos, if you grew up with these I hope you will enjoy it

If you've played Trade_Madagascar, you know I pay attention to details. With this map I made sure to make every landmark unique, and visuals be equal across the entire map, with some exceptions and optimizations.

I don't recommend PVP on this map! Keep it friendly, fights may ruin your frames, map is vast and optimization is hard to pull off! Although, with peace, the map averages 130+ frames on my mid-high end PC.

The monsters come in many forms, some can't be seen, some can only be heard, some can be interacted with.

Weather can cycle between standard night and raining!
A thick myst burdens your eyesight.


This map has functioning, synchronised clocks around the map. (24 hours=12 minutes)
The clocks cycle 3 times (72 hours)
Some encounters and events only happen at specific hours.
Keep your eyes peeled for clues as to what happens on certain periods.
host_timescale speeds up the time


The Cabins in the map have interiors, with kitchens, bedrooms, etc.
Great for hiding from the horrors of this forest.
...or chilling with friends.


Some events are reliant on RNG.
In one map run you may not experience something that may happen in another one.
Keep playing to experience everything!







1. Subscribe to the map. Then navigate to:
Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/440/2339781434/

2. Copy the .bsp file and paste it to:
Steam/steamapps/common/Team Fortress 2/tf/maps

3. Type "map crypto_forest_a1" in the console.
