Description
Torti - Interplanetary Transport
To celebrate 6,000 hours in SE here's my first survival ship, built years ago then refined in creative, designed for a crew of 5 to fly to and from a standard earth type planet several times without refueling, rated for Gravity wells up to 1.2g in its standard config. Complete with 4 retractable landing gear, large cargo ramp and multiple external connectors allowing for quick & easy access to the ship & its resources.

The Video
I’ve always wanted to make a scene where a floating debris field would come back together to form a ship, so after a while of messing around in SE I came across method of producing this effect by editing the .sbc file, then taking a screenshot of each change and stitching it all together in a video editor, in the end this method took too long.

So I asked my buddy Klime, to see if he could help streamline the process but at the time we were told it would require changing the game engine. 6 months later Klime and I were discussing something else when he told me it was possible and 2 days later I got my mod (Thanks Klime), the output still required a lot of post production. The effect was recorded at .1 sim speed and then speed it up like 4000%, to get the effect you see. The video was used with: Premiere Pro, After Effects & Audacity, Enjoy

Music
This is always difficult to do without resulting to SE music all the time, so I came up with a little guitar riff that I put down over some hip hop drum loops using audacity, then got my friend Burninton steel[soundcloud.com] to redo the drums and and mix it all together using voodoo magic (Logic Pro).

The cut scene Enable allows you to access the cut scene options without using visual scripting tool. Tap F11 twice to bring up the cut scene tool, you might need a tutorial if you haven't used it before. Google "space engineers cut scene editor"

The AllSplitCinematic is what i used to create the split effect at the beginning of the vid, look at a grid and press T and it will split apart. I would leave this one alone unless you are brave

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what do each of the mods used for the video do? I'm creating a cinematic and wondering if they might be useful to me.

@tpairs00ap, it has no name of yet, I built it for this video, but I got carried away.There is the beginnings of a inside to it . There's is a version with damaged thrusters under the lave giving a smoke and flame effects. Most of the grids are angled slightly from each other which gives it a nice look, there's a lot you don't see in the video, space garden, radio station, glad u liked it :)

Ship is really nice, but a word of warning if you build this in atmosphere:

1. It has no fuel when it spawns so it'll drop to the ground.
2. It weighs 12 million kilos, so the hydrogen engines it has are not enough to lift it off the ground. I recommend attaching some atmos after it's built

@Olly The sub grids are a pain. The only way I know of is to take a BP of each sub grid and build it again in survival, the lg and back ramp are easy to build and don't need BP's. Open it up in a creative world and make a BP of the Captains Console & front ramp, it takes 5 minutes and is easy to do. Sorry dude I wish sub grids were supported some how. if you make a the BP and upload them I will back link them here for you, that would be cool.
