Mod Version: v1.3


Hertz Unit Titles is a mod that gives titles to individual non commander units through real-time battles for the High Elves faction.
Each title has their own unlock conditions and can only be achieved while playing the battles yourself. When a unit achieves a title, they will get the bonuses and a custom name linked to the title.
This mod is balanced around the Ultra unit size from the graphical options

(This mod is save-game compatible)



Titles, Conditions, and Rewards
Each title has objectives the unit will need to complete to achieve the title. Some titles are easier to obtain and have only a single condition to complete, while others have multiple conditions making the title harder to achieve.

When a unit completes all objectives for a title their unit card will pulse in the units UI window during battle at the bottom of the screen. The title will then be awarded to the unit who achieved the title after the battle.

The rewards for each title get better and more powerful per title rank, enhancing the units primary role in battle, or strengthening the unit for another combat role completely.


Battle Conditions
Each title can only be achieved through manually fighting the battles, and autoresolving will not reward your units for any titles. All titles have to be achieved before the battle is over. Titles stop counting and will no longer be awarded after the "end battle" button appears when the battle is fought and all enemies are either dead or shattered.


Three Different Title Ranks
There are three different title ranks your units can obtain: Generic Titles, Great Titles, and Legendary Titles.

[Generic Titles]
Generic titles are titles with only 1 unlock condition. These titles are simple and straightforward, and will apply basic stat boosts/attributes to your units

[Great Titles]
Great titles are titles with 2 unlock conditions. If you wish to unlock this title for a unit you will need to complete both objectives listed. The rewards of great titles will focus around the condition and will emphasise the role of the unit achieving the title, with stats and/or abilities.

[Legendary Titles]
Legendary titles are titles with 3 or more unlock conditions. These titles are the hardest to achieve and will give the best rewards of the mod, completely changing the way you play with the titled unit, or enhancing their current role to match with some of the strongest units in the game.


Separate Title List Per Unit Class
Each unit class (excluding monsters, beasts, artillery, and commanders/heroes) will have their own Title list they can unlock. Most titles will be unique for each class with some overlap for a couple of titles.





Mod Compatibility
This mod should play nice with any mod that does not add Purchasable Effects to the units for the High Elves. (Greenskins scrap upgrades mechanic)
For the rest since this is a mod that does a lot of battle scripting this should work as expected with big overhauls such as SFO and Radious.
I will not balance this mod around SFO and or Radious, those would require sub-mods.

Technical Limitations
Now while you play, some trackers may not fire or may not line up with what you're counting yourself if you're going for a specific title. Unfortunately due to the limited battle scripting functionality some trackers may not be 100% accurate, but I got it as accurate as possible.




Afterword
This mod has been a journey, I started this mod because I wanted to learn more about battle focused mods. There are hardly any mods that affect the way you actually play and strategize your real time battles, this seemed like a nice challenge.

Hi is there a safe way to uninstall this mod mid campaign? I'm finding some possible compatibility issues with cross faction recruitment mods I'm running that's causing CTD, but directly removing this mod would cause my game to crash when loading a battle as well.

I noticed the same issue with the Moonbow quest, although I didn't find out the issue was caused by this mod. The other issues I haven't seen though, I'll see if I can duplicate them.

While playing through Alith Anar campaign the other day, I noticed that his Moonbow Questbattle was bugged, and reinforcing units would not spawn in.

After some stupid amount of testing, I just arrived at the conclusion that this mod seems to be the one that breaks AI...

Even by itself, this breaks AI, so it seems not to be a mod-conflict...

Furthermore, while I was using this mod before the quest battle, I had some archers early on be able to acquire the half ammo/75 kills title.
However, later one - even as I was babysitting particular archers to make sure their killing number was above 75 units, and above half their available ammo - it stopped providing titles to units entirely.

So it seems this mod is in need of an update...


Now if you excuse me, now I got to decide to either start a new game without this mod, or keep playing my 150 turn campaign without moonbow and this mod that no longer provides anything for my game other than 5 units with slightly better stats... -.-

Damn near impossible to meet these criteria sometimes, but definitely worth the effort. The only one I seem able to get regularly is the generic archer buff, which is decent. I have no idea how to get any of the other ones.

Seems very interesting, I like customizing my troops, However, I wish to have one for dwarf, it would be very immersive with the titles when fighting greenskins, skavens and chaos.

I am of the same opinion of @Guvenoren. Very cool idea, but it honestly seems way too hard to get this with units that are not already OP, which I find is a shame. It would be cool if there were tiers to them, so weaker units could get the weaker tiers, and eventually match higher tier units as they ascend in tiers.
