Byzantium Simple Faith Buff

Description
This simple mod solves big problem of Byzantium - UA which is dependant on religion without any help to found this religion!
I modified Byzantine Palace, so now it has its basic yield and +2 faith +5 defense (this also reflects role of Constantinople, as fortress almost impossible to take)

Good game! ;)

I swear that this is the clone of a mod that does the exact same thing? I just subbed to a mod that did this.

I think in the long term, the Celts will still have better faith generation by default. (not including buildings, wonders, etc). They have a forest start bias, and when there's one, there's more nearby. After their second city they always seem to be in the lead for faith generation and It still allows them to secure the juicy belielfs and pantheons before almost everyone else.

I was thinking maybe +2 was too much, but you can have only one palace. Gonna sub and try it, but I think it will be ok. Its a better alternative to having a civs UA go defunct because every other civ found a goody ruin with faith before it can even get a shrine built.

the celts get plus one or two faith if next to one or more trre tiles i don't see how +2 FPT is OP?

Dude, I love all of these simple fixes. So tasty! For this one, though, I would echo the sentiments of what a few people have mentioned; the immediate faith bonus kind of steals the thunder from the celts, and to a lesser extent, the ethiopians. Instead, giving the byz a free great prophet after researching some technology (Theology, Philosophy), or when hitting the medieval age.

Regardless, I love the subtle tweaks. Maybe you do something with the Brits one day, too?

YES. Early faith is the only thing Byzantium needed to become a solid civ.

I definitely think this mod is needed, I might scale it back to +1 fpt but otherwise awesome. I'm in the middle of my first game as Theodora and I missed out on the race for a religion... >:(

This is a bit OP, IMO - makes them too good at faith since they get the super early pantheon as well.

The problem is: now they are better than the celts when it comes to UA. Celts can get 1, at most 2 fpt since the beginning, more with more cities - but then it gets negligible and you can't keep that faith throughout the game without a big tradeoff. 1 fpt would be more fitting for byzantium to let them secure a faith pantheon.

The Theodossian Walls, goddamn invincible until those damned Turkish cannons came along. The Def. buff is thusly, fitting. Faith makes sense from the get-go.
