The Verona Augmento class was proving effective, however it's specialized point defense turrets increased production time and cost. As well as the exposed jump drive, which contained valuable components, making each loss a heavy blow.

LKF command needed a cheap, fast, and well armed Corvette class ship, thus introducing the Invictus series. A simple, cheap, and effective Corvette.

Capable of flight in gravity up to 1G the Invictus has already proven itself extremely capable. After initial trials, the decision was made to push forward the bow in favour of a drone hangar. This allows the Invictus class to carry out missions on its own, with a drone for scouting and infiltration missions, foot soldiers aren't needed.

Description

The Invictus is an all business Corvette. With excellent point defense and anti fighter turrets it will serve you well.

In the hangar on the bow is a Corsair class scouting drone. This drone is armed and is powered via ion thrust. Before launch, make sure you turn on its antenna and thrusters.

There are no production facilities, bar the survival kit, use the storage available for spare components and ammunition.

The Corvette herself is capable of atmospheric flight, and is equipped with parachutes in case of emergency. The drone CANNOT fly in atmosphere, do not release it.
