Description
Short Description
Complete randomly generated tasks with the armed V-44 X Blackfish on the whole island of Altis. Rain down fire with the 105 mm Howitzer, the 20 mm Gatling Gun and the 40 mm APFSDS-T and GPR-T Gun. Destroy the enemy, support your friendlies and always be certain what your target is, as recklessly killing friendlies and civilians will not be tolerated!



Features
9 different mission types:
These tasks will be randomly chosen across the duration of the mission
  • Support friendly unit closing in on an enemy location
  • Clear an enemy campsite
  • Intercept hostile vehicle convoy
  • Defend friendly patrol from being overwhelmed by enemy forces
  • Search area for downed friendly drone and destroy it before it's data is stolen
  • Clear occupied area of hostiles
  • Provide overwatch for friendly unit on patrol in the jungle
  • Provide overwatch for friendly unit on patrol through a location
  • Clear an enemy roadblock
and a final mission, where you will support an attack of multiple friendly units on a location seized by a large group of enemies.

Custom Support Menu:
  • Order the AI pilot to circle around a position, change the radius and altitude of the circle.
  • Request that friendlies near the designated position mark themselves with smokes, if they have any. If they are out of smoke, they will give a description of their position.
  • Earplugs. Reduces the volume by 90%. Volume is decreased by default, but can be set to normal through this menu. Believe me: your ears will be thankful.

Custom AI communication:
  • The AI will communicate through the side chat or vehicle chat and a vanilla radio sound will play.
  • Patrols will inform you when they pass a checkpoint and when they come under attack.
  • Patrols you are tasked to defend will inform you when they fall below 50% of their original strength.
  • The AI pilot will respond to the support menu requests, as will the nearest friendly unit you request to mark with smoke.

Server Parameters:
Customize the mission to your liking
  • Choose the mission duration from ca. 20 minutes to one hour or make it infinite
  • Set the starting time: morning, noon, evening, night
  • Choose the weather to be sunny, cloudy, rainy or stormy
  • Set the maximum number of civilians you can kill before the mission fails
  • Set the maximum number of friendlies you can kill before the mission fails
  • Set a view distance applied to all players
  • Enable the console for the admin
  • Enable the debug mode, where enemy's locations are revealed


Ingame Briefing

1. Situation
a. Enemy Forces
(1) The enemy is estimated to have reached battalion size.
They disrupt our mission efforts to stabilize the country by guerilla warfare.
Enemy forces are active on the whole island.
(2) Their course of action is not known to us but we expect them to continue
their asymmetric warfare. They employ hit and runs, raids and other guerilla
tactics to even the odds between them and us as a larger force.
b. Friendly Forces
(1) Higher Unit
High command deployed a Blackfish to quickly react to threats across the island.
High command's intent is to engage any guerilla forces and disrupt their supply
lines and operations.
(2) Adjacent Units
NATO has units deployed across the country and sends them on COIN operations,
such as Search And Destroys, patrols and reconnaissance.
(3) Supporting Units
none.
(4) Attachments and Detachments
none.
c. Civilians
Civilians are present on the island. They are not cooperative and may flee on
spotting NATO forces. If Zulu kills too many civilians we will order them back
and reassess the situation. Keep collateral damage to a minimum!

2. Mission
On request, Zulu follows their assigned tasks across the island to disrupt
enemy forces and support friendly forces. We are a supporting effort.

3. Execution
a. Commander's intent is to disrupt enemies movement and supply.
b. Concept of the Operation
(1) Scheme Of Maneuver
Infantry units will deploy on COIN operations across the island.
Zulu will support them in doing so.
(2) Fire Support Plan
Zulu can be requested over radio.
c. Tasks
Zulu stands by for orders.
d. Coordinating Instructions
EMPTY

4. Signal
Zulu - Blackfish (Player Squad)
Base - Airbase
Alpha - Infantry Company
Bravo - Infantry Company
Charlie - Infantry Company


Author’s Notes
At least man one of the guns, as the AI will not engage the enemy properly!

If the gun camera of the
Blackfish does not fix itself on a point, open and exit map. That may fix it.
The pilot AI may sometimes act wonky, but should not care about enemies at all.
In multiplayer you can switch seats with the scroll wheel, in singleplayer you
have to switch between units with the “U” key. One AI may be ejected from the plane if you switch seats. I have not found a fix for this.
If there should arise the problem that a mission can not be finished
(i.e. AI patrols taking a long swim) or you don't like the task, you can
cancel the task in the corresponding Task tab.
Don't eject from the plane. If you do so nonetheless, under “Technical” >> “Expressions” in the
diary there is a line to teleport back into the vehicle.
The Active Radar can be toggled on and off by the pilot and the left door gunner.
In multiplayer the pilot AI may turn it off again.
When the Blackfish has 20% fuel left, it will refill magically.

Tested on singleplayer, hosted multiplayer and dedicated server.

Open the support menu (press 0, then 8), choose the option "Set Loiter Waypoint" (or press 1), then, whilst on the map, choose "Position" (or press 1). The Pilot will circle around the position where you had your map cursor. Hope that helps!
