U boat TYP XXI

Description
I´m back with my new Submarine TYP XXI.

I know another TYP XXI on the steam workshop but this one can entirely controlled by one Person.
I think its the maximum logic the game can handle

FEATURES:

-10 fully working Torpedos with FULL AUTO RELOAD.(push of a button)
-The radio with autosearch featured in my TYP II Submarie
-Some interieur
-4 big Engines to power this beast
-Diving chamber in the back.
-Periscope where you got every base function of the sub. ( forward/backward, Left/right and torp loading and shooting)
-Fully automatic depthhold (static and dynamic ) and ground avoidence system.
-Snorkel with 2 seperate engines to get max efficiency.
-Dimmable light switchable to red.
-Automatic heating system.
-Bilge pumps
-Speed selecter(to let you select 4 different speeds)
-Cruise control
-The front diving fins can folded in like in the original
-Basic sonar wich is linked to the periscope.
-Automated batterie managment wich will cut the different sections when the main batterie gets a lower voltage and renable it when it gets recharged.



Operate the Submarine:

To START the Submarine just get on the left control HELM and switche the button start engine on the right.
Engine will idle until its needed.
After this you can simply select 1 of 4 speeds and press 1(cruise control) or W/S to move forward/backward.

To DIVE select fill balast button in the middle right and set a depth on the keypad right in front of you. After that switch to electric power on the right again. (no need to turn start engine of).

To SURFACE just select empty main balast and set the depth to 0 after surface switch back to diesel engines. (engines will start automatic).

To FIRE a TORPEDO (first one is loaded in but after that) when the pumplight turn green you can press „load torpedo“ the indicator will start blinking. After it stops blinking the fire button will start blinking red and you ready to fire.
NOTE that the torp will move in the direction the sub is pointing not the periscope.
On the torpedo fire control you can also set a depth for the torp loaded into the tube.

Using the DIVING CHAMBER the diving chamber can used at 5m depth. It can also be used at any depth below that. Just go in press the button and wait. The outer doors will open automatic once the chamber is full. To go back into the sub just press the button again and wait until its empty.

Using Snorkel:

first make sure the main dieselengines are turned off.
Press the snorkel button and wait 10 seconds until the snorkel is raised.
Enginens should start up and recharge the batterie solwly.(NO DIRECT DRIVE ELECTRIC ENGINES MUST BE ENABLED)
Keep in mind the snorkel can not provide enough electricity to keep the sub charged under max speed slowest is required.

AIMING A TORPEDO:

Press 3 on helm to lock and reset the periscope rotation.The periscope HELM got basic steering over the ARROW keys. you can zoom in and out with W/S. I recomment to aim over the electric engines because the diesel can be a bit ruff. when the target is in the middle of the display press "LOS" ... the torpedo should hit the target. (10 sec on 1km and 20 sec on 2km)



STATS:
38.000 liter of diesel fuel (9.000 in reserve).
Diving time of 1 minute when really pressed.
Range underwater(electric power) : 11 km
Length:56,5m
Width:5,25m
Height:9,5m
Recharge time from 5-100%: 15 mins
Max speed: 20 knots surfaced and 16 when submerged
Torpedo Speed : 360km/h (2000m in 20 sec)

Notes:
Dont wonder if the Main Balast is not getting full. The Submarine is build for neutral bouancy and the additional ballst gets filled when diesel fuel is used up to compensate for it.

Its not a 1:1 replica. I made it smaller so it can spawned in a regular dock.

To get the max range out of the batteries you can bypass the electric controll and give the engines more juice.

The torpedos are still a bit of testing but they should do real damage. keep in mind they are really fast
(now tested at a range of 3 km and they still hit the target fine ... but 2.3km max for damage.)

If the batteries must be recharged you should not move to much … slowers the process of recharging

when you select a speed and it jumps back to silent running its a failsafe … just try again … until the selection gets set.(lagging)

The front torpedo tank is also there to compensate for every torp fired.

UPDATE 7.12.2020:

-Rewire the back fluid level meter so now it will show the level in the diving chamber.
-Rename some buttons and named the one that i forgot.
-painted some blocks that i forget on the torpedo doors.

UPDATE 8.12.2020:

-removed the now useless mainbutton.
-reworked the complett divingchamber microcontroller. should now always keep an eye on how many water in in the storage tank for the chamber and regulate it. and build a lock in in case your not at least 5m deep.
-added a sctive block on the torps so they hopefully dont despawn after 2km.
-added more labels and hook the digital display to the distance of the sonar.

UPDATE 9.12.2020:

-added cruisecontrol to the periscope helm
-added a lock and reset periscope rotation in helm
-relocate the temperature sensor. (what was i even thinking right infront of the periscope)
-fixed some more missing paint


UPDATE 22.03.2021:

im working to fit a modular engine ... but as i found out this will be a mammoth project. it will take quiete some time to figure something out.


UPDATE 27.04.2021:

a small update ... the project modular engine is not dead.
Engine fitting is nearly .. done ... but in case someone is wondering ... im working on some sonar guided torpedos ... because the old one seem lacking behind the submarine possibilities

@cornflowerblue21 im sorry To inform you that i Made the Submarine 4 years ago. I Made updated Versions but everytime i got something working the devs Breaks IT again with a Update.
I startet working in a Typ 7 minelayer 1,5 years ago but this one IS broke too with every Update. At the time im waiting for the devs To Stop with waterphysics uodates
