The remorseless advance of the Virulent Host through the Subsectors of Gynnest Major have encountered little that would halt their progress. The Imperial High command has ordered a retreat, sacrificing the area to the warping influence of nurgle. But the Order of the Thorn has stood defiant of imperial commands. The Order have gathered around the Shrine of St Mathias and vowed that nurgle will not lay a grotesque finger on its holy surface.

Imperial command watches on. Victory would mean a significant boost to imperial morale, showing that faith alone can defeat chaos. Failure.. well, they’d rather not consider failure….
