Description
I built this car because I thought making a folding roof mechanism would be an interesting challenge, and I was right! The final design ended up somewhere between a classic Mustang and Pontiac GTO, both gorgeous cars. It has a brand-new steering mechanism which combines the functions of my 2-mode system from earlier models, so you don't have to manually switch it.

Update: I rearranged the engine bay to fit a new radiator to fix cooling issues caused by the v1.1.3 update.

4-Speed Manual Transmission Version: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2293503093

Features
  • 5-Speed automatic T-III transmission
  • Top speed: 141 MPH (227 KM/H)
  • Folding convertible roof
  • Folding headlights
  • Cruise control
  • Stability control
  • Launch control for drag racing
  • Full lighting system
  • Seating for 4
  • Heater
  • Fire extinguisher and welding torch included
  • Fluid hose anchor for refueling
  • Electrical cable anchor in engine bay for recharging battery
  • Emergency backup battery
  • Mass: 777.75

Controls/Tips

To start, get into the drivers seat, turn the ignition key, and use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select Drive, Neutral, Reverse, or Park.

- Left/Right: Turn signals
- Button 1: Lighting Mode
- Button 2: Cabin Light
- Buttons 3 and 4: Cruise Control
- Button 5: Launch Control (hold, throttle up, then release to launch)
- Button 6: Open Hood

When driving on roads, it's best to use cruise control to stay at 60-70 MPH (96-112 KM/H). You'll get good mileage at that speed, and at 100+ MPH it's difficult to safely steer through the corners and hills.

That's a great car for sure. I drew some inspiration from it when I first started the project, but the moving parts aren't quite the same. I needed to fit the roof lower when it folds thanks to the body shape, so I had to experiment around until it worked.

Gordon made a convertible, quite a while ago now, with a incredibly similar roof mechanism, all the moving parts are the same

@Mackamo Hey thanks! It took a long time to get the geometry right thanks to a Stormworks hitbox bug but in the end it worked out!

I don't usually comment, but this creation is insanely cool, I think this is the first smoothly working convertible on stormworks.
