Network Features
  • TEXTURE SHARE: Superstructure is based on RWY and RWY Arcades. If LSM is enabled, RAM use should be minimal.
  • Basic Network: Custom, high ballast network with wooden ties.
  • Elevated network: Standard truss bridge with bunker towers.
  • Bridge network: Tied arch network
  • Tunnel portal: Custom tunnel entrance.
  • Node Spacer: Use it to set proper arch and elevated span. 80m for elevated and 160m for bridge.

How to use
- Start building the bridge approach from both ends of a river or any area.
- Drag elevated sections first.
- Switch to bridge elevation and drag the arch section.
- In case bridge pillars dont show up or mis-aligned (they will be, as metal arch is offset IRL), use Move It to realign bridge pillar. Find it tag: "remagen"

Recommended Mods
  • Move It, to edit and tweak stuff.
  • Find It, to find and use props in-game.
  • Prop Precision, to increase precision while placing them.
  • Network Skins 2: In case you want wireless version, you can use NS2 to remove catenaries and wires.
  • Node Spacer: Use it to set proper arch and elevated span.

History
Lüdendorff Bridge, or often referred as 'Bridge at Remagen' was one of the 3 bridges that were built across the Rhine during WW1. Lüdendorff, along with other 2 (Hindenburg and Urmitz) were reinforced bridges that had its own military personnel. Towers on both ends were occupied by artillery and anti-air crew.

During WW2, Remagen was the turning point of the war. Almost every bridge on Rhine was destroyed by Allies or blown up by Germans during their retreat. Remaining bridges had explosive devices located to pillars or superstructure and they were to be triggered by German officers. Remagen thus, was one of the intact bridges on the river. By disregarding his orders, US Army 9th Division rushed to the bridge and actually managed to capture it intact, because explosives failed to do their job. After its capture, Remagen witnessed the most intense aerial bombardment and operations of the entire European theater, by Germany throwing everything they had in their arsenal; from rockets to bombers, artillery and even underwater assault team to blow up pillars. Remagen outlived them all. 10 days after its capture and despite US efforts to repair the bridge, it had collapsed on its own, on 17th of March 1945. Its capture changed the outcome of the war and presumably shortened the war in Europe by another year, as well as caused the scrapping of any nuclear attack plan against Nazi Germany.

I found it fairly hard to build this bridge adapting it to the terrain, with the towers popping out where they shouldn't and not where they should according to your screenshots. Moreover the towers are adapted only to a small height range to look realistic. Still this is one of the nicest railway bridges around. Hohenzollern is much simpler to build and still nice but looks "thin" when used single
