DESCRIPTION

Hello, it's been a while.

The original Better Repeaters mod is a favorite of mine, but unfortunately it was plagued by a number of minor bugs that hindered the experience a bit.

Alas, DerBK has long since lost the original files, so being unable to update the main mod, he has given permission to me to upload a fixed version to the workshop.


FIXES

  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause repeaters to still instakill their target.
  • Now has proper localization in every form, meaning mods like Extended Information will now properly show the name of the repeater equipped under the "Critical Damage" tab, instead of only showing the damage value.
  • Added support for the Insider Knowledge resistance card/continent bonus, which upgrades every attachment. The value of this bonus can be configured, alongside the other values, in this mod's XComGame.ini file.
  • Localization is now dynamic to reflect this, and the number will be properly updated in case you have (or don't have) the Insider Knowledge bonus.
  • Removed the arbitrary check for pistols to be excluded for the effect to be triggered. This means you can now equip a repeater on a pistol and it will work as intended.
  • Other minor code optimizations.

Could/would you make a version of this for overwatch damage, like the Better Hair Triggers mod but for repeaters?

ah I actively go out of my way to not use repeaters. thanks to you & DerBK for this alternative.

@Bunbun Actually, I'm sorry, that was incorrect of me. My earlier comment stands, they can work together, but only with the proper load order or with the proper WSR configuration.

Sorry again - been a while since I modded XCOM 2 and got confused. Apologies.

@Bunbun There is no "possible" conflict with Tactical Suppressors, this mod is straight up not compatible with it. They both modify the same thing in wildly different ways.

Really want to use this mod but the possible conflict with tactical suppressors is keeping me from subbing. Don't really want to mess around with mods to have it in the right load order.

Hmmm... I am not sure if this is OP or not... but I am using it more now that before. Maybe because I like the idea of crit more than insta kill.

@Everyone Update: Fixed an issue causing Repeaters to still retain a 1% chance to instakill an enemy. Thanks to @h4ailst0rm over on Discord for the report and the solution!
