Bison Class Shallow Draught Tanker

Description
The 'Bison' class vessel is a small shallow draught tanker, that punches above its class in terms of cost, payload efficiency and speed. At just 36.5m in length, it is able to comfortable carry 133k liquids at a speed of 24kts. The vessel also offers a small crew cabin, and a highly optimized bridge which offers excellent visibility. At just over 110k in credits, it is an ideal vessel for early-mid game career mode.

IMPORTANT: Read operating instructions at the bottom.

Also note, this vessel does not come with an active stabilization system. However, it is optimized in such a way, that it is very stable, even in rough seas with proper deadweight.

Operating Instructions:
1. Start Generator #1 and (optional) Generator #2 just below RPS throttle lever
2. Toggle on dead man's switch (optional). Do note that the dead man's switch is programmed to detect a player in the cab every 15 seconds. If you leave the cab and you do not return in time the engine will shut off.

4. Turn on monitors as desired
5. Fill forward and aft ballast tanks. It is HIGHLY recommended that all tanks are full or near full when running with empty cargo (max total liquid weight is 200,000).

Its the ballasts causing the nose to sink, You can empty them and its up and running within a couple mins

Wondeful career tanker!!!!
The bilge pump in the engine bay is reeeeaaaallyy slow when going around 7 it takes litterarly hours before it goes to 0 so i had to reload.

also i think the speed of unloading could be slow because of the lack of gas relief so it creates a vacuum in the tanks when unloading?

honestly after looking for awhile on the workshop, this is still my favorite oil tanker, just perfect in every regard for a career game, the way points you can set is just , well as its described, it punches well above her weight.

Am I being stupid? Do I have to empty the ballast tanks before I can put crude oil in? Everything spawns full, if I drop the diesel out then the ship has no fuel? Can someone help please

Hi, finally got the research to use this ship for the first time today (except for the large rudders .. just changed them .. as well as added rope anchors and updated the gearboxes and cooling .. not that cooling is a prob .. just don't know if sea water in this version matters). AWESOME ship .. Thank you so much for sharing :))

To fix the sinking and full cargo problem:
When you have the ship in your workbench, use the selector tool to find the fluid spawners. You can then adjust their level to be zero. If I remember correctly, the tanks on the center line are the engine fuel.

This is a superb ship. Lots of details but not so complex as to be laggy. Wonderfully functional. I had no problem starting it right up and using it to sell a load of cargo.

This is exactly the kind of ship I wish I had the skill and patience to make.

spawns with the fore ballast completely full - takes a long time to drain, not seaworthy until it does so - also spawns with the storage tanks completely full of diesel, which makes it unsuitable for use in shipping crude or jet fuel
