Description

Description:
This Rebalance will be globally applied to all ships and stations. It will protect docked ships/stations (Children) when docked to the Main ship/station (Parent).

Overview:
  • Both the Main Ship/Station and the Docked Ship/Station must have shields.
  • All Damage will be transferred to the Main Ships Shields when they are online.
  • Impenetrable Shields do NOT carry over. Docked ships shield may be bypassed if they are not Impenetrable. (Still Considering if I want to change this.)

Why Use This:
  • Carry your stations along with you and ensure they are well protected
  • Make smaller ships and attachments survivable while docked.
  • Allows you to practically add Docked Utility items to your ship without the fear of destruction during battle.

@Berkys32, That isn't something I can fix. That is located in parts of the game that I'm not able to access.

Smaller ship is trying to stop, when Im flying big ship with smaller one docked to it. I know its not issue of your mod, just asking if you could solve it somehow ;)

@Berkys32, the turret thing is a vanilla game mechanic.

I don't fully understand what the problem that you are having from how you described it. Can you explain it in more detail or in a different way please?

When I dock smaller ship (shuttle) on my bigger ship, it starting to says I dont have enough turret slots. Also smaller ship is breaking, which makes big ship slower. Can you do something, so I can take smaller ship on trip with me?

If child and parent are fired at, would that mean that the main stations shield is drained at a higher rate at first, until the main station shields are down, in which case the child station shields would start to be drained?

If correct, can this behaviour be configurable in e.g. the station settings (maybe same window like where you set the sell prices?)

In a factory complex where you have multiple stations the main shields one would become very fragile when multiple child stations are under attack.

Alternative might be to drain the childs shield first and after it reaches 0 it will redirect to the parent.

Impenetrable shield idea

Can Impenetrable shields be a toggle on the main ship? If the upgrade is installed add new activatable entry in the ships energy configuration which enables this and adds energy cost based on volume (it becomes expensive when applied to similar sized childs, but not when you have a small ship docked to a massive parent)
