Jack Panama

Description
"The Baltimore Stretcher" Jack Panama (aka "Jumpin' Jack" in his younger days) is a well-respected veteran of the game. A two-sport All-American (wrestling and track & field), originally known as a high-flier (by 80s standards) until a knee injury had him adapt more of a mat-based style, and one of the men who brought the Scorpion Hold, or to his fans, the Panama Lock, to popularity.

A former Global Wrestling Federation (now GWE) World Champion, he's more known to modern fans for his later run with the United States title. Winning the title on the day his GWF contract expired, he had his time in the promotion extended by his championship, leading him to using underhanded tactics and adopting a 15-minute time limit to his matches. Eventually, an upstart named Corey O'Brian would reverse the Panama Lock into a small package, but the bell rang before the three count. A rematch with a 20-minute time limit ended with O'Brian holding onto the ropes while in the Panama Lock and Panama refusing to break the hold. This would lead to a No Rope Break Submission Match between the two, Corey O'Brian becoming the first person to escape a fully applied Panama Lock to apply one of his own for the victory and ending Panama's storied career.

Panama would work backstage for GWF, mentoring the man who retired him and helping him perfect the Panama Lock (which Corey uses to this day, albeit dubbed the Sharpshooter as, according to Panama, "It's your hold now"). When Corey left GWF due to a contract dispute, Panama would work backstage for Corey's own promotion Demolition Pro Wrestling during it's early days before retiring to Queens, New York.

Until recently Panama was enjoying a happy retirement, teaching political science at Columbia University and coaching their wrestling team, but has since resigned. Officially the legendary wrestler resigned to spend more time with his family, but word is he's looking to make a return to the ring...
