DEI - Armenian Glory/The Hayk Reich

Description
THIS MOD REQUIRES Divide Et Impera parts 1,2 and 3!!

_______________________________________________________________
What does the mod do?

This mod converts "Hayk", or Armenia, in the DEI mod into a "perfect" eastern faction which borrows several units from other eastern factions such as Media, Parthia, Pontus, India, etc. Thus, the roster now has elephants, phalanx units, pike units, various hybrid archer units capable of melee, cataphracts, horse archers, and so forth. A lot of units, especially archers and foot units, have been edited in terms of how they look and function for a more unique experience when it comes to possible army compositions and strategies. In addition, the effects of Eastern buildings have been overhauled for a more immersive experience. I plan to release just this part of my mod separately once it is polished to perfection.

Why Armenia?

1. Armenia recently received a visual overhaul which not only makes its native roster look amazing, but also changed the look of its generals and politicians to have a fancy Sassanian style that cannot compare to that of any other eastern faction at the moment.
2. Armenia has a good starting position. You won't be swarmed by wars like Parthia, or caught with a waiting game like Media. You can expand east and south to create a new Persian/Sassanian empire, or expand west to create a new Syrian empire, or you can do both!. You can also turn all your neighbors into satraps very easily.
3. Armenia has a reliable set of core units that I could immersively "augment" with units from other factions without an awkward composition. The roster, although heavily persianized, truly feels like a cosmopolitan imperial arsenal.

_______________________________________________________________
Is it balanced?

No. The reworked Armenian roster is not only decked with extremely cost effective units and buffs to existing units, and the faction itself is given several advantages. Various eastern regions are also given new effects that make your empire's economy and infrastructure grow stronger as you expand. Furthermore, you can also use two other submods of mine which nearly eliminates diplomatic penalties for vassalizing minor factions into satraps immediately after declaring war on them and buffs the benefits of having vassals too.

However, I do have a recommendation for those who want an actual challenge. This mod buffs Rome in several ways, making them an absolute ****ing menace in the hands of the AI.

Installation & Compatibility
  • To install, first subscribe to this mod, and place this mod above the 3 DEI parts in the mod launcher.
  • Due to the complex nature of this submod, you most likely should place this submod above other submods.
  • This mod is save game compatible, but may become incompatible with future updates of DEI.
  • Although this mod will be multiplayer compatible, multiplayer in R2 is often a very buggy process that I will not be able help much should it become an issue. All I can say regarding this is make sure both parties have the identical setup and mod load order when attempting multiplayer.
  • Note that this mod is NOT COMPATIBLE with its Persian counterpart that was recently uploaded here.

Credits
All of the texts and entries used in making this submod are not my original work, and are credited to the DEI team. I have merely rearranged & edited existing content from DEI and the R2 native files to create this submod. Seriously, go make a donation for DEI or something. The project deserves it. Credit goes to "[FnF] Nemesis/Apollyon" for providing amazing screenshots. Oh, and finally, I am open to suggestions on balance or aesthetic improvements so do feel free to leave your comments below.

This mod is quite outdated. I don't mod TW anymore.. it's so much work just to get a mod back up to date. If there's anybody who would be willing, I'd gladly give away this mod to that person.

Seems like there are a lot of visual glitches that I either didn't notice before or they're new with DEI changes. Missing arms, black textures, stuff like that. Any chance of you updating it? You're the only person to give Armenia the appreciation it deserves!

The reforms for Iranians take a lot longer and require territory in my memory, whereas the parthian reforms just kick in as turns pass. Again the reform system has changed somewhat over last year so I'm not sure if this works still. :0

The thorax reforms just kicked in so I'm sure the other I'm sure Iranian/Imperial reforms will also come if I conquer more Seluekid/Parthian territory :)

In my understanding they don't need to be alive for the reform system to kick in. This mod might be broken with the reforms though...

Hello, this mod is awesome - thank you very much.
I just have a quick questions about reforms for the Persian units you added to the roster. I'm on turn 120 and the Iranian reforms have not yet happened for me (should've happened in turn 65 i think). I destroyed Media Atropatene early on - Do you think I needed to keep them alive for their reforms to take place on my units/roster? Thanks again :)
