Digimon World: The Board Game

Opis
Train, raise and tame your own Digimon, starting from In-Training and possibly up to Mega Level! Grow stronger, learn new attacks and become powerful enough to take down the evil bosses!

Become a powerful Digimon Tamer as you manage your time Training, learning new Attacks, gathering Items and Equipment as you and up to 3 friends prepare to take on the Evil Bosses from the Digimon Adventure anime series! Take on Devimon, Etemon, even the Dark Masters as you grow your Digimon from In-Training, to Rookie, Champion, Ultimate and possibly even the super powerful Mega Stage! But beware, if you don't raise your Digimon right, they might just Dark Digivolve!

Based around the core mechanics of the Digimon V-pets and the Digimon World 1 and Next Order video games, become the best Digimon Tamer, gaining Tamer Points (TP) to outclass your fellow Tamers!

This game is still a Work-In-Progress! Art is subject to change and rules may be modified!

UPDATE (July 2024):
I am glad to see you guys enjoy this game! I made it originally to scratch the itch of a game I would want to play! Sadly, I only got to play test it once with a friend (hence a lot of the unbalanced and seemingly untested mechanics), and never found time to work more on it.

If you guys haven't tried it or haven't seen, there was a remastered version by isutton007, and it has some changes to the balancing and enemies, and a visual overhaul!

There's still a little more tidying up I have to do, including a playtest of the Dark Masters to make sure the slight changes are good and finish up their section of the Rulebook, but for now, the PDF is updated! Huge shoutout to isutton007 for updating a good portion, giving me a great jumping back in point to finally come back and make the rules clarifications I wanted to! Happy Training!

We know how to fix the balance of just spamming training and how to improve wisdom.

1: Get rid of the rest location
2: A digimon gets 1 extra energy per turn every 3 points in stamina
3: The other locations (Besides the boss) act as rest locations.
4: (Fixing wisdom) Have a selection of face down cards for stuff like Scavenge and battle (Let's say 4 face down cards) and for every 3 points in wisdom, you can flip over 1 to see what it is before picking.
5: Speed and attack get 1 extra die for every 2 points in them.

This way you need to rely more on items and attacks more, and it nerfs training so you can't just do it all the time.

Actually a very fun game when you get right down to it. Requires a lot of inferring of rules or homebrew'ing your own, but that's sort of the beauty of it; everyone will interpret the rules differently, so everyone will have a different experience with it.

As a couple of others have asked, how does Myotismon and "capturing crests" work?

I also have a visually remastered version of the game if anyone is interested.

So tried it out and noticed some thing what I don't think the rules specify:
- When I lose all HP I lose a life token, but it doesn't say if battle end, I get back my HP, or it just continue.
- What happen exactly when a mega digimon lifecycle end and de-digivolve. It just turn back to in-training, or have to follow what happen when lose all life token?
- Equipment cards have text on the left (Wis: 3, Meat max: 3) What I guess is requirement for using that card, but nowhere specify that I can even get that card if I don't meet that requirement, or that only applies for using it.

I don't understand when are the crests captured. I would suggest that they are captured when you die and also your victory pile, since they died and are new digimon they don't conserve their victories just as in vpets.

is the PDF actually still being worked on? there are alot of questioned that we where wondering about as we played Also the devimon boss took us a Solid 8 hours of play but 3 hours of that where related to questioning how the game was designed because some information inside the Notebook was either vauge in some areas but also confusing as well

Mock the Dark Masters run
Pick Nyraoumon obviously
Day 1- Train Stam, Train Str, Data->Gabumon
Day 2- Train Stam, Train Spd, Buy electroshocker, Dunk Palmon, Data->GaruruMon
Day 3- Train Stam/Str/Spd, Buy Supreme Cannon, Data->Garurumon
Day 4- Beat up Veggiemon, Train Str, Train Stam, Dunk Puppetmon, Data->Meteormon
Day 5- Train Strx2, Buy Tribeam, Buy Mega Deathscythe
Day 6- Train Spdx2, Fail to mega, Slowly grind Machinedramon to dust, Fish up metal seadramon
Day 7- Train Str/wis, Train Wis, Make a mockery of Piedmon
Go train my digimon to 10 bases via super training or something, gather all attacks, and never let apocolomon

Also sadly never even took damage to heal up from.

I got good attack luck this run as in multible attacks were worth buying so notably
Final deck
2x Combo Attack
3x Big Hit
1x Quick Dodge
Dark Network
Elctro Shocker
Mega Death Scythe
Supreme Cannon

Final Stats- 8hp, 10 Str/Spd/Wis/Stam just cause, would have been better doing some super training but whatever.
