The Volunteer Multipurpose ship OSV DSV (updated)

Description
UPDATE 5 :

- added air exhaust for all the tanks, to avoid pressure lowering when draining fuel (or overpressure when addind fuel in the freight tanks), due to the mechanisms brought by the Space DLC update.

UPDATE 4 :

- reworked the crane (bigget, reaches farther)
- transfered the cargo fuel tanks to have more room in the hold.
- increased the size of the hold's door and added an elevator.
- reworked the pumping system, now it is possible to change the effector from the hold.

UPDATE 3 :

- Added megalodon detector, via sonar. Always active, will trigger the main alarm if a meg comes closer than 2 km. Time to use the 'meg emergency button' then!
- meg emergency button forces the vital electric breakers ON so that it the ship gets beaten by a meg and all the breakers come down, it remains functional.
- improved the fuel compartment and add a fuel plug on the heli platform.
- added a retractable gangway on the forward port side of the ship.

UPDATE 2:

Modular engines. Cruising speed 25kn, top speed (megalodon emergency mode) 40 kn
Camera on mast (switch to the cam using the button under the coffee machine in the cockpit).

UPDATE:

The ship was updated with the following modifications:
- the sub now spawns inside the hangar, allowing to install a container on the deck before spawning.
- added a fire suppression system in the engine room, can be triggered either from the bridge or from the engine room entrance.
- replaced the navigation system with the exceptional radar system desingned by XLjedi.
- added a small winch to help to get the RHIB back into position.
- added bilge pumps (automatic start, reported at the bridge)

----------------------

The Volunteer is a fictional multi-purpose ship, designed with one goal : being able to achieve as many mission types as possible in Stormworks and have fun with the map (whence the submarine) whatever the weather.

Main features :
– 4 large engines, max speed 22 knots (megalodon emergency mode, increases speed to 31 knots but needs a lot of fuel).
– Automated gearbox, simple and ergonomic screens to monitor the whole ship from the bridge.
– Radar, sonar (map and depht modes).
– Radio, weather station, overhead maps.
– Beacon locator.
– Emergency cabinet (rings in case of emergency, red lights show you where is the problem), includes and emergency battery and the megalodon emergency key button.
– Multi-points autopilot (program from the big screen at the rear of the bridge, activate with the white button on the central console).
– Side propellers (bow and stern) for manoeuvers.
– Double stabilization system (mobile mass and propellers)
– Foldable mast to pass under bridges (control from bridge's central console)
– Remote controled submarine.
– Sliding crane allowing to handle submarine, containers, and more.
– Functional RHIB (use the main crane to unlaod it), speed around 40 knots.
– Pumping station in the hold, with cargo tanks and possibility to dewater wreckages from a deployable side winch. Interface located on the main deck allows to connect all the the tanks in and out.
– Towing winch with different connection points, and nearby ropes.
– Double water canons (controls from bridge).
– Lighting flares, smoke flare, red flare.
– Side winches with harnesses to rescue people at sea.
– Functional anchor (controls from bridge)
– Detailed interior with living room, kitchen, cabins, bathroom, ...

How to sail ?
– Make your way to the bridge.
– Turn on the two key buttons on the central console (left hand one starts the motors, right hand one starts the generator).
– Grab the wheel (f) and use WASD to control the ship.

All the buttons are libelled (or should be).

How to use the crane ?
– Open the cabin using the external button and get seated.
– Push the « unlock crane » button on your right, otherwise nothing will move. This button also lowers the handrails so that the crane can turn freely.
– All the crane control are labelled (use « h » to display legend)
– Don't forget to release the connectors before collecting the sub (« release berth's connectors » button on you right) or picking up the RHIB (« release RHIB's connectors).

How to use the RHIB ?
– Put it in the water with the davit first:-)
- Note that the RHIB is realeased from the davit by using the button on its bow or the hotkey '3' on the seat.
- be careful to prevent the davit support to get caught on the RHIB fuel connector when exiting. If this happens, the fuel connector is desactivated using the toggle button on the left side of the RHIB's engine.
– Use the key button to switch it on.
– Push the « start » button.
– All the other controls are from the driver's seat.
- Top speed can be achieved using a 50% throttle, this might save fuel.

How to use the sub ?
– before picking it up with the crane, switch the connector on (side buttons on the sub).
– The controls are located in the room aft of the bridge (same level as the bridge, across the staircase).
– Switch the controls ON using the key button. Every controls are labelled.
– First fill the ballast (using « 3 » up to 1700L).
– To change depht go slowly forward and use the govern (up/down arrows).
– When the sub is on surface, the small upper camera will be displayed on the main screen. When the sub is lower than -2m the display switches to the main camera (I did this because it is difficult to spot the mothership with an underwater view).

There is no « sink » option on this ship... actually it was rather designed not to sink...

@nongboli. I use a modified version of the Boeing MH-6M Little Bird that you can find on the workshop. To fasten it to the helipad you can use the small winches that are integrated on the floor, it works fine. There is a button on the upper platform allowing to thighten then all together at the same time, and once it is done, the helicopter will not move anymore.

any plans to add a helicopter that is compatible with the ship and add connectors to the helipad and the heli to lock it in place?

@KuroNeko: this screen reads the 6 first composite chanels of the radio signal received by the antenna (frequency is set near the wheel). I installed it because I understood that there was a mission in which the coordinates were transmitted in the radio signal but to say the truth I never managed to get anything out of it...

Yet another question. What is the Screen next to the Autopilot doing?

Thank you very much @RandomLazer, I appreciate!

hey, no request here, just wanted to let you know I love this ship so much, it seems designed from the ground up purely for function, and its modularity and capability are absolutely awesome

Honored to learn it was the first creation you had. No plan to add weapons, I'd rather have it stay as a SAR and exploration ship.

also, will you add weapons? it is multipurpose
