Description
The USS King is the 56th destroyer of the Clemson class, this veteran of the second world war sails her way right into Stormworks!

From fighting fires to search and rescue, this ship has got what it takes to tackle missions of all shapes and sizes.

Should she get into a fight, she can hold her own as she's durable, but do keep damage control in mind so she can live to see another day.

And as a flush deck destroyer, the decks get a little wet in heavy seas, best to keep hatches closed.

Schedules, wall, and floor colors are referenced from pictures of the USS Texas & Lexington

-------------------------------------------

Go to bridge and increase throttle to at least 27.500
Head to power plant and activate pump breakers
Proceed to engine room and increase clutch and activate pumps
Once all pumps are active, press and hold startup button

There are three gears on the helm, one and two are slower but better for towing.
Gear three is a reverse gear. To reverse, slow down/stop proceed to engine room and lower the clutch
Once clutch is lowered, return to the helm and press three. Once finished, return to engine room and raise the clutch.

Enjoy!

Idling
-------------------------------------------

When stopping for an extended period of time, the idling generator in the ship's power plant will keep your ship powered up. All you have to do is turn on the general electric breaker, activate the pumps, raise the throttle, and start that bad boy up. There are two fuel tanks that can keep the generator running for a long, long time. I have noted that after a certain amount of time, performance might degrade or it auto stops when the main engines are started, if that's the case, restarting the generator should solve it. If it needs refueling, press the "Divert" button on the console and use one of the fuel canisters onboard to fuel it. It must be noted that the generator can only be refueled from the starboard side fluid connector, just make sure you press the divert switch before fueling.

Stability & Sinking
-------------------------------------------

In rough seas, she's prone to listing of a variable degree, and given that she's a flush deck, it's likely that water would be coming over the sides quite often. She handles extreme waves differently in some areas, so I can't promise she'll be stable or unstable everywhere.

There is no sink button, but there's a multitude of ways to go about achieving your result, I'd strongly suggest using the variety of hatches around the ship to mix things up and get a variety of ways to go down. I'd usually fight a meg or scrape an island several times, the meg is how I ended up with the sinking pictures at the top (minus the Honda Point one) My advice is to be creative with it, as there's more ways to get your desired outcome.

Fair winds and following seas!

About
-------------------------------------------

This started back in December when I came across a picture of the deck plans for the Clemson class destroyers. These little four pipers have always had a special place in my heart, so I tried building one. That didn't work out so well, I found one on the workshop shortly after and loved it. However, I felt that as great of a ship as it was, it needed some work. So, I spent the last nine months extensively working on and testing it. I referenced four ships heavily, and had slight variations of each in game: USS King (DD-242) USS Bainbridge (DD-246) USS John D. Edwards (DD-216) and USS Clemson (DD-186). Over the course of the year, I've learned that I can't really build anything to save my life, but I can modify, so I have done just that and wanted to share this with everyone. I hope you enjoy this, and I'll probably be updating it whenever stuff gets added or needs fixing.

Here's a fun fact: Six ships of the Clemson class were loaned to the coast guard, but were eventually returned and reactivated as destroyers, however, the King was not one of them.

It's a WIP, I'm planning to completely overhaul the interior to be more realistic much like my other ship, the USS Sterett. I'm not sure how long that'll take, but it'll release as a separate version. I'll post updates here as I make progress.

The DLC version of the USS Sterett is out now! With the Sterett out of the way, I can focus on improving the King and getting that ready for the DLC too!

Given the release of the DLC I may come back to update this ship for the "modern" era and make a more proper version for the DLC. I have yet to start on this, as I'm working on my other version currently, but once I finish with that, I'll probably update this and make it a separate release so those who don't have the DLC can still use the King to the fullest potential. Feel free to let me know what ya'll think! Thanks for the support and the downloads everyone, it means a lot to me, and I'll be seeing you soon with something that packs a punch!

I'm a better decorator than I am a builder, I'm sure there's people that'd do it a lot better than me, but thank you for your support!

Did you make sure the electric breakers were on in the power plant? Or that all the buttons in the engine room were pushed or toggled?
