Oakland, California

Just across the bay from famous San Francisco sits Oakland, California. Oakland has long been in San Francisco's shadow, but has a character, identity, and transit problems of its own.

This map, which streches from Downtown Berkeley(Including UC Berkeley), all the way down to the foot of Broadway in Jack London Square, is an accurate reproduction of Oakland, Berkeley, and Emeryville.

In terms of realism, I'd peg it at 95% accurate. Every building was hand placed. Every street(with some exceptions in the hills) exists, for the most part with its same lane configuration as in reality(bus lanes were added.) Additionally, the MacArthur TOD has been developed into a 3rd job center to make the map more playable. Otherwise, everything is exactly accurate to the best of my ability. I started this map before maps4cim2 was written and therefore the elevation map may not be perfect. I suggest using the map as City Growth disabled to maintain realism, but if you play with it the game is fine, just realism suffers. Additionally, playing with city growth may make the city bigger than your computer can handle - with it off on my system I have a gamebreaking 500k riders a day.

I want to give a special thanks to my beta testers: Linoa06, Adamfergler and MattJackson - each of them made a different very good suggestion on ways to improve the map that in the end makes it better overall.
