Okay, disclaimer, this is NOT an original mod. This mod originally came from ActionJack. The purpose for this mod is to rebalance and polish the mod, both for personal usage, and for anyone who wants this. To make this more clear, I haven't gotten approval from ActionJack about this. I have sent out a friend request, but I am now waiting for the accept. I'm hoping that if ActionJack comes back, that they can just make these changes official.

COMPATIBILITY

Forgot to to put this down after the fix: this mod should now be compatible with mash variety project and Courtyard Plus. The issue possibly stemmed from mash file names, but that has since been fixed.

So, what has been done?

Unlike the other two mods, my experience was kind of minimal with the original mod, so balance was harder to think about. I made sure to target popularly disliked monsters though.

Here's the list:

1. The dodgey boys were nerfed; the pirate ghosts received a duration on their dodge buffs (3 rounds), the actual buffs to dodge were lowered, and base dodge was drastically lowered.

One mechanic is hard to describe about these guys when it comes to how it changed, so I'll just explain how it works now.

There is a mechanic on the stress attack. It adds a large chunk of dodge (+15), but it is paired with a slightly smaller chunk of dodge loss (-10). The gain is on a 3 round buff, and the loss is on a 2 round buff.

What does this mean for the player? The dodge gain intially is small, but the player should consider killing the pirate before they make their next turn, as the debuff will fade but the dodge buff will remain for one additional turn. Providing a pure +15 dodge bonus.

2. Did a bunch of renaming of skills and polished strings.
3. The eye tentacle lost its prot in favor of a little more dodge than the average tentacle.
4. The bleed and stress debuffs on the blood snails no longer last for four battles. Instead, they last for 6 rounds. I felt the four battles was a bit excessive.
5. The apprentice snail's bleed attack now does one less bleed damage per tick.
6. For the Kraken, the prot buff when summoning a tentacle was removed. I felt like the flow of battle is: shoot kraken, kill tentacles while they are debuffed, shoot kraken, kill tentacles while they are debuffed, etc. The prot gain from summoning one feels like it puts a wrench in the flow.

That being said, the prot gain while tentacles exist remains, as it supports the flow of combat.

1. Looking at the total value for mashes, this mod's monsters were spawning WAY too often compared to other mods and the base game. The likelihood of seeing this mod's enemies has been drastically reduced.
2. In the dungeon folder, there was another folder that had identical mashes within it. This extra folder was deleted. Note: this will cause a black screen error if you got this update while on a cove quest. It can be ignored. Send a message if this has caused any problem!

1. I might have fixed the kraken no longer spawning issue. MASSIVE CREDIT TO USER BENZGEG FOR GIVING ME THE INFO NEEDED TO FIX THIS.

1. Mash files were altered to remove vanilla creatures from them. This prevents the vanilla creatures from spawning slightly more than they otherwise would.

(THE FUTURE)

WHEW this was quite an interesting journey. My experience with this mod's files has definitely helped me understand how to mod this game a lot more. I have plans to make some original mods very soon as well as help with existing projects.

Current future plans:
1. One or two enemy mods.
2. A provision mod.
3. A loot mod.
4. Supporting my existing mods.

As of now, these mods are in maintenance mode. Should a problem come up, I will try to fix them, but as a new modder, I cannot guarantee all things will be fixed.

hey are you done modding for that other game, if so I was wondering if you plan to the fixer for web of malice mod and if not can you tell me what you did to the Homunculus boss progression that now follows one similar to the prophet? so that I may applied to the spider boss.

People who complain about town event clearly just didn't remove original mod.
This mod doesn't even have town event activator anymore.
You should not have original installed if you want to use this one.
After going through the files I don't see anything that would cause crashes, pretty clean mod overall.

@Riff I have shifted my modding attention to another game, so probably not. I also apologize in advance for whatever problem is happening further below in the comments. In my own testing, I never ran into those issues, so I imagine there is some edge case I forgot about or there's a mod incompatibility.

When the town event for this show up it crashes the game when I try to go to the provisions screen. idk if this has already been resolved in the comments so I apologise in advance.
