The Astero is a survival ready, surface to space planetary defense cruiser designed primarily for patrols, defense, and if necessary, fleet bolstering. Warp capable, multiple connection points for cargo transfer, 2 separate airlock side access, and an upper access hangar with direct pathway to CIC.

Designed to be manned by a crew of one up to five. Access to primary vitals are given priority over personnel commodities. Although designed mostly with light armor, it is functionally capable for atmospheric maneuvers and is equally effective in space.

Equipped with numerous turrets of varying types and 6 forward rocket pods, the Astero has proven to be a fair match against other combat ships of similar size, with exception to particularly armored vessels.

This ship is designed with inspiration from the Astoga tier one ship from the free to play game Dreadnought. There will likely be other ships of similar origin coming soon.

This is simply an 'inspired' ship and as such the finished product will differ noticeably from the source material and is currently an actively evolving design.
