Description
Silenced boi goes pew pew pew.

But seriously though, I enjoyed doing this. Nothing else much to say as this follows the same principle of my earlier uploads; the L4D2 Silenced SMG on enhanced versions of the L4D1 animations by yours truly.

The SMG animation set was one of my favourites from L4D1, and it's hard to explain why - perhaps it was the motion that was just nice to look at. The vanilla set, although not bad at all, feels a bit too stiff and robotic for me. No idea why Valve decided to redo the animations - was it to throw off accusations that L4D2 was an overpriced expansion pack? Who knows.

The following features are included:-
- Mesh has been 'cleaned' (it's in quotes because I'm not sure how well of a job I did on it) to fill in missing holes and redoing the sharp edges to make the model look better.
- Has all of the features added by TLS update, such as support for the different weapon skins and jigglebones for the dangling cloth.

Animations have been overhauled in some way:
- The left thumb has been rotated and moved to look like it's vanilla counterpart (*).
- The fire animation now mimics vanilla as well - the bolt moves forwards instead of backwards and there is animated trigger and finger movement.
- The bolt itself has been moved to compensate for this.
- The reload has been tweaked to remove clipping when the Survivor slots the magazine in, bullets animate in the magazine correctly when reloading and they don't hover-hand when locking the mag in (Unfortunately, the unused animations for pulling the bolt in L4D1 wasn't included when the animations were ported, so the bolt never moves in reload).
- The almighty trigger discipline makes a return to reload, deploy, helping hand, and item extend animations.
- All animation events now point to the 'SMG_Silenced' sound entry (this now results in a different deploy, mag in, mag out and mag lock sounds - you won't hear the difference in vanilla, but this is nice if you want variety in the sounds for modding).
- Animation speeds are compliant for online play - reloading will allow you to fire as soon as the animation ends and the helping hand/item extend animations won't freeze briefly before looping correctly.
- Had to completely remake the up/down poses due to Crowbar not supporting the decompilation of delta sequences, so this is not a 1-to-1 authentically beta version, but I like my versions of the poses.

Usual licenses apply, I own nothing except modifying the animations and compiling the weapon. Model by Valve, Animation Set by Lt. Rocky.

(*) The thumb has been made to look good with the Valve Survivors, so your mileage may vary on custom Survivors, but, from my experience, as long as the fingers and thumb aren't too thin it won't look bad.

I'm not sure if this will still be updated but I'll say it anyways: Although I have seen you made an attempt to fix it in the patch notes, it seems the firing bolt is not still correctly animated.

Silenced SMG beta reload is incoming either today or tomorrow, I just need to fix a few things. I made a Trello finally too so I could keep track of what I was doing (my workspace is a bit of a mess, funny that).

The SMGs really do feel a lot better on L4D1's animation, nice job on this!

@NvMe
I'll definitely take a look at it, I do want everything to be as best quality as possible.

Think of the one on CSGO's Mac 10, where the firing the bolt goes back all the way and to its original position each time a round is shot. The one here looks like it only moves an inch when shooting.

I think its just me who can't bear it, its just only a very small nitpick in an otherwise good mod

@NvMe
Can you elaborate? I'm not too familiar with how the gun works and I've only mimicked how TLS Silenced SMG works.

If you do add a proper firing bolt animation when shooting in the future this is one of the best silenced smg mods out there

Lots of stuff overhauled but the firing bolt only moves oddly around an inch when firing, very strange
