DBA 2.2 (Scripted)

Description
De Bellis Antiquitatis 2.2 (DBA 2) is a popular miniature wargame created by Phil Barker, one of the first professional wargame designers in the world. DBA is an excellent introduction to many players to historical wargames: games are between 30 and 45min long, all armies are standarized to 12 bases, with a simple combat system.

This mods allows you to play with any of the hundreds of armies available automatically, with some of them having actual miniatures. It will help you setting the board, measure accurately and snap all the bases together.

While this mod is in active development, it has been playable for months and has held several tournaments. We have a discord community here: https://discord.com/invite/senBs9B

Any question or feedback can be left here or on the discord.

NOTE: This mod is essentially the same as the DBA3 version, but for DBA2. Many people in the Spanish community still play this old version of the game. If you aren't part of it, you probably want the other mod.

Features: Setup

- Create tables with different environments, like grass fields, steppe or deserts. Said tables can be fixed, alongside the terrain, so it doesn't move or bother when playing.

- Automatic army creation based on the DBA lists. The models have been adapted and lists are as easy as selecting the army in a dropdown,

- Spawned bases have a base ground theme depending on the table created. Furthermore, lighter troops spawn in a loose formation, and there are variations between models and textures.

- The game will display the options of the army so you don't have to doublecheck everything.

- There's a checkbox to enable deployment rulers which significantly help with the deployment.

- The armies, including bases, are color coded, to avoid confusion.

- The models have a specific minimal collider to avoid problem with pikes, cavalry, trees, etc.

Features: Gameplay

- Snapping system: When you drop a base close to another, they will snap, as long as they are close enough and the angle is correct. Snapping includes charging and even "close the door" manoeuver. It can be turned off for particular manoeuvers.

- Single movement: If you pick a base and move it, a small text will appear in the screen telling exactly in real time how many paces you are moving. This includes all corners, so it's useful for rotations etc. Once dropped, the total will be shown.

- Reset movement: When moving a single base, if snapping is active, and you move less than 10 pieces, resets the base to its original position, which can be useful to evaluate future movements.

- Group movement: Select multiple bases and with one click move all as a group forward! You can select how much to move with a slider.

- Preview movement: Using the slider, you also have a small gizmo in front of the troops that shows where the base will end after pressing move.

- Preview Bow/Artillery range: Like the movement, the range is also projected from the future movement position (which you can set position to check the current range).

- Show TZ: Like the artillery range, this is an option that can be toggled that shows how far the TZ extends.

- Push back Column: Moves a column back, by the depth of the front element (if the element has more depth than width, only pushes back by its width).

- All movements can be undo-ed and redo-ed with a couple of buttons.

- Dead counter: Drop the dead bases on a special box and they will be counted on the bottom, which makes easier to see, especially if you share screenshots.

- Automatic roller: Especially using if you are playing "Big DBA" with 3 armies.

Thank you to all the modders that allow the rest of us to create this amazing stuff. Thank you in particular to Jin.choung for his DBA original mod, Vess for the Empire models and Vokuhila for his Carthaginian done with photogammetry, who has inspired us to follow that way.

There are several spawnable armies but you can still use the ones included the four books mods, although they won't work with the scripts.

All the code of the mod is open source! With MIT Licensing too, so you can grab it without any issue. The scripting can be found here:

All feedback is welcome. Have fun.
