Description

A behemoth of an assault frigate, the Vengeance Class Heavy Assault Frigate features potent weaponry and the most powerful railgun developed by WDM to date. Coming in at an impressive 132.5 meters in length and weighing over five kilotons, the Vengeance Class borders the line between frigate and destroyer. It's massive railgun can cripple similarly sized ships in a single shot, and the four Mk.II Compact Assault Batteries provide a constant barrage of fire. While the Vengeance Class may weigh almost as much as some allied cruisers, the ship maintains some of it's speed and maneuverability thanks to it's primarily hydrogen propulsion systems, and 6 jump drives allow the vessel to keep up with the fleet during hyperspace jumps. The Vengeance Class' comparatively large size allowed for the installation of a full production suite, a larger CIC, and the addition of a dedicated mess hall. To make room for more ship-to-ship weapons, the Vengeance Class is somewhat lacking in point defense capabilities, but it partially makes up for this with increased armor and a gravity shield that can deflect incoming railgun slugs.

Not by default no.

Is this ship atmospheric capable?

Aye, the CIC and reactors don't go immediately, but when the gyros start coming loose they tend to bang on things (like all the jump drives that aren't busted) in flight. Still, I am not aware of the specifics of the rules you take this in to battle under, so I shall trust you there. If you should find yourself interested in facing off against a more challenging foe, feel free to hit me up.

From my experiences in combat testing, the interior bits that actually do matter (CIC and engineering) are decently well protected. Also about those rotor turrets. Originally they were just missile turrets but I preferred the rotor turrets as they both can do more damage than missile turrets and look better. But I do get what you're saying, they are easily destroyed.

Perhaps heavier armor and some decoy-pods then on future designs? The hull is relatively thin and light so it tends to suffer internal damage rather quickly when it comes across anything with missiles. You may also wish to consider swapping the rotor-turrets for conventional turrets, as the rotors have this bad habit of getting blown off really early in a fight.

Thanks! Yeah, I would agree, however it is a heavy frigate after all. On the subject of grav-drives, there is a slim chance I might use them in the future. However I'm reluctant to do so due to their effect on simspeed.

Not bad (and much nicer looking than my stuff), seems a bit sluggish though given how light most of it's tank is, have you considered a gravity drive?

This ship is so strong.
Rhea.licious  [author] 13 Oct, 2020 @ 8:32pm
Ah yeah that'll do it.

Ok, i just tested in creative mode and it worked fine i guess i just didn't have the right components in my survival game.
