Description
Name: Naggarok

Description:

'For a million years we have been trapped in this ship, listening to the electromagnetic chatter of your tiny self/worlds. We know you better than you know yourselves'.

In lore the Naggarok was an exploration ship from another galaxy that made a long hyperspace jump to the HomeWorld galaxy, but in doing so picked up some kind of organic lifeform that quickly began to consume and take over the ship. The crew realised the danger this posed so they destroyed the engines and comm systems to try and trap the lifeform before they too were consumed, leaving a drifting hulk that lay undiscovered for a million years until the events of Homeworld: Cataclysm.
The ship I have built here is a faithful reproduction at a slightly reduced scale compared to my other Cataclysm build, the Kuun-Lan.

Specification:

Length: 600 meters
Mass: 226,233,520 KG
Blocks: 254,920
PCU: 478,867

Details:

100% Vanilla
Survival Ready*
Full Production, Weapons and Life Support systems.

Summary:

Another giant ship though again slightly smaller than I would have like to have built due to the limitations with the physical shape limit ( not the block limit, that's separate ). However, upon attaching the four 'shields' that surround the hull this caused the grid to exceed the limit and as such, it suffers the same issue many of my other giant ships do in that a large portion of the ship has no physics interaction, meaning you can fly right through the hull in many places. Oh well, I tried- this is technically Survival ready but realistically it too large and too demanding of the game/ pc hardware to be used for anything other than making machinimas or playing around with or exploring in creative mode.

Anyway, if you like what you see then please remember to upvote, like , share , subscribe, tell your friends & follow for future builds, it helps to keep me motivated, cheers.

Don't forget to check out the rest of my HomeWorld ships on the workshop, I have a Collection which
is updated regularly: https://steamproxy.net/workshop/filedetails/?id=1818498339

it would be cool if the inside was also contaminated with the beast

would be fun to use as a Halloween scare or custom npc if made so

@jetblade545 - I've made every Hiigaran ship from HomeWorld 2 ( apart from a few drones ), check my workshop collection. I haven't made any of the original HomeWorld ships though.

can you make the Hiigaran Mining ship?

Nope, no projectors or weapons besides the gatlings- it is too massive to add anything else in terms of functionality, it already exceeds the shape-limit of the game, sub-grids and projections are not viable. Besides, it's not designed to be used really, it's just a replica for playing with- if your pc can cope...

It would be cool if it had a projector that made cruise missiles. unless it already has one?

Many an evening I spent trying to beat that mission. Usually ended with me getting totally destroyed or completing it by the skin of my teeth by firing the Siege Cannon point blank into the Naggarok. Ahh, good times. Need to pick up the rebranded "Emergence" and play through it again. Hmm, wonder if the old mods for Cataclysm still work......

I believe you i havent paid attention to shape number only kept on block and all my big ship always started to turn crazy around 90K blocks. That explain why i believed the limit being around that.
SuicideNeil  [author] 9 Oct, 2020 @ 9:32am
No, it's not the number of blocks at all- it's the number of shapes ( triangles )- the limit is shown in the info tab when looking at a grids details. The more curves, angles and pointy bits a grid has the sooner it will reach that limit- a giant cube on the other hand could be almost limitless in size because it is such a basic shape. I've been doing this for 6+ years, trust me... ;)

yes survival limit is like 90K blocks above that you loss physical integrity.
