Marine Pirate Encounters


This mod adds a handful of hostile NPC marine encounters to the game. These encounters require the Water Mod by Jakaria to function.



The encounters in this mod do not spawn on a timer, they will instead appear as you explore the planet surface. They operate on the same system that Planetary Installations spawns use (eg: Surface Occupation mod), but will only spawn on water. For more information about how Planetary Installations spawn, please see the guide at this link[gist.github.com].



Shark Bait: These patrol boats are the smallest of the large grid encounters. They will try to get fairly close and engage with the handful of turrets it is equipped with.

Calypso's Envy: This medium sized Frigate prefers to stay back a distance and engage targets using deployed drones and Zodiac boats. It will still engage targets that get too close.

Howl of the Abyss: This large battle-readied freighter will often stay back a fair distance and deploy drones to engage targets. At closer ranges, it does have several turrets available to engage targets. If you get too close, be prepared for a significant battle.

Zodiac: A small grid boat that is deployed as reinforcements for other encounters. It has minimal forward fire power, but also has a couple nasty surprises for unsuspecting players.

Cannonball: A small grid drone that is deployed as reinforcements for other encounters. It is only equipped with minimal weaponry, but can still pack a punch against unprepared targets.

Crow: A small grid drone that is deployed as reinforcements for other encounters. It is well armed and harder to shoot down when compared to the Cannonball encounter. Approach these with caution.



The encounters in this mod were built with a couple WeaponCore mods in mind. If you have either of the 2 mods list below enabled in your world, the encounters will automatically be configured to equip and use them. Keep in mind though, this does dramatically increase the difficulty of these encounters.



If you decide not to use the above mods, the encounters will use a vanilla weapon loadout instead.
