Player Suit efficiency - 50k L inventory + enhancements

Description
Ready for 1.204 Signal Pack

This mod is intended to make the life of engineers a little easier, allowing you to visit medical rooms and containers less often.
There are 3 types of inventory sizes, you can use 1k to stay the closest to default, with a little more space in bag.
Crouching speed is set to be the same as walking speed (instead of turtle speed).

Changed values compared to game default:

value
default
mod
MaxCrouch*Speed
2
3
(crouching speed = walking speed)
OxygenConsumption
0.063
0.05
(bit less oxygen consumption)
Hydrogen suit [MaxCapacity]
125
200
(1 hydrogen bottle: 1000L, 5 charges per bottle)
Oxygen suit [MaxCapacity]
60
100
(1 oxygen bottle: 100L, 4 charges per bottle)
SuitConsumptionInTemperatureExtreme
2.5
0.5
(less Medical Room visits building in space)
MaxPowerConsumption
0.0001
0.00005
(less hydrogen consumption)
ConsumptionFactorPerG
250
50
(less hydrogen consumption on planets)
InventoryVolume
0.4
50
(so 50.000L normal, 500.000L in X10 mode)

Important:
In order to change the volume of the bag you need to:

- empty your bag and suicide to respawn or
- open the Character Screen at a Medical Room, switch gender and apply
(then switch back if you want)

- This mod is not compatible with mods that use the file "Characters.sbc"
- Mods that modify health only are compatible

Troubleshooting if the mod doesn't work:

1- Try moving it down in the active mods order. This way, the game will overwrite any changes to characters.sbc file made by other mods.

2- If the mod doesn't work despite being moved down in the active mods order, try starting a new game, activating the same mods you have on your save. If this works, it is a problem with the game and not with the mod.

3- Alternatively, try out one of my other mods, linked below.

Same mod, different inventory volume:
Suit Efficiency + Inventory vol. 1k L (1.000L default, 10.000L x10 mode) -> Link
Suit Efficiency + Inventory vol. 10k L (10.000L default, 100.000L x10 mode) -> Link

Other mods, that change inventory volume only:
Inventory Volume 1k L (1.000L default, 10.000L x10 mode) -> Link
Inventory Volume 10k L (10.000L default, 100.000L x10 mode) -> Link
Inventory Volume 50k L (50.000L default, 500.000L x10 mode) -> Link

Requested:
Suit Power only mod -> Link

If you want some particular changes, let me know in comments, and i will make a separate mod.

great, I'm glad there is a way to modify containers!
this mod is really good, thanks for letting me know!
it works like the respawn for my mods, where you have to die to allow the backpack to change volume, so you have to delete and recreate the containers to make them change, which will be automatic for all new containers.

If you increase the numbers in the Size line, the volume of game containers will also increase. BUT! That is, on my starting respawnship there was the usual size of containers, but as soon as I completely deleted it (I don't know if the parsing works below the red line) and put it back, the volume changed ...
But whether it is possible to change the global volume multiplier of all containers, I do not know...

Thanks for the answer! It's a paradox, but only after writing this "request" to you, I decided to look for new modified containers and found a mod (Cargo Ultra-Large) thanks to which I understood how the size of the inventory in the game is now "encoded"... It is the size of individual containers, and not the total multiplier x1-x10 selected in the settings of the world. This is now sewn into the Entity Components.sbc file.
For example:
<TypeId>Inventory</TypeId>
<SubtypeId>SmallBlockSmallContainer</SubtypeId>
</Id>
<Size x="0.5" y="0.5" z="0.5" />

If you mean a mod that modifies the size of the containers, unfortunately it can't be done.
When I first made these mods, I wanted to make a special one for containers, but after several searches on google and after sifting through dozens of files in the game, I realized that this is no longer possible.
Probably the programmers have modified this part to prevent crashes or save/load errors, or anything else that could affect stability (perhaps taking into account the entire transport system).
This is just my guess, maybe they did it to prevent small ships from being built with the capacity to transport several tons of materials, which is obviously unrealistic.
But if they restore the ability to modify container capacity in the future, I will definitely create a mod :)

But I have a request, if it is possible at all - could you make a similar mod that changes the volume of the container inventory, and not the player?
In earlier versions of the game, there were parameters in the game files by changing which it was possible to increase the volume of inventory for myself (I usually increased the base size at least 2-5 times). But now these parameters seem to have been removed or encoded in a different way and I haven't figured out exactly how ...
Ideally, again with different multipliers, such as x10/x25/x50/x100 (in the game with x10 setup it will already be x100-x1000).
Sorry for my English, not my native language.

Hi! Thanks for this mod! I have been editing the game file directly for myself for a long time, setting the inventory increase I need, but with this mod you can not get into the game, but install, say, a couple of mod options - and turn them on at the right time (some of the largest at the start, there is not a large number of containers or miner-ship, etc., so as not to fly with every handful of ore / parts) and a smaller volume for a later game, when manual assembly, etc. is already minimal).

i'm glad that you found the conflict :)
Hadies_Alchemist 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:28pm
10k health. I found the problem mod it was "player reinforcement."
Lamer  [author] 7 Jun, 2021 @ 7:28pm
Tested the mod and it's working (500.000L inventory whit x10 mode).
Maybe there is a conflict with another mod.
What's the mod you are using for healt? (give me the link so i can check it)
btw, try to put my mod at the end of the active mod list (bottom), to let it overwrite other modifications at the characters.sbc file during the load process.

hey this doesn't work. I dont have any thing that mods players besides health. I respawned and nothing changed. My inventory size didn't change.
