Dual Drive Offroad Pickup Truck

Description
+++NO MODS+++

Somewhere in the past of the pickup truck, America has lost its way. The seats became too comfortable, the suspension became too modern, the look became girlish and the engines became too small. This pickup truck is an antithesis to all modern pickups, a lifeline thrown across fifty years of compromise, taking you right back to a time when pickups were tortured with heavy loads, not making a school run.

Automated features:
• Brake light, both when driving forwards and backwards (doesn't really work well in latest version [04/17/2021])
• Reverse light when driving backwards, also when dual drive mechanism is engaged(doesn't really work well in latest version [04/17/2021])
• Gear selector lever moves backwards when driving backwards
• Parking brake lever moves, when dual drive mechanism is engaged and the vehicle is standing

Driver seat controls:
1. Dual drive mechanism/parking brake (parking brake lever moves, parking brake releases when driving off with W or S)
2. Horn
3. & 4. Indicators (with click sound and display in the dashboard)
5. Low beam
6. High beam (with display in the dashboard)
7. Interior light
8. Radio

Idea behind the vehicle:
The idea was to build a relatively small car, because my previous build (Land Rover Defender) was much too big in relation to the tires. Nevertheless most of the functions should be carried over. Furthermore, the dual drive system and the suspension were to be optimized since the previous system caused bugs. The steering should also be designed so that the wheel moves less back and forth in the wheel house, thus allowing smaller wheel houses. Also the automatic tail lights should be optimized, so now a smaller WS Converter is used and the reversing light is now working when the dual drive mechanism is activated. Finally, the use of glitch welding has resulted in the desired very clean looking, small vehicle. There is no real role model for the pickup, I have only vaguely oriented myself on old American pickups and on a picture of a pickup from survival mode someone posted some time ago here on steam. The red is a custom color with the hex code #900000.

Thanks for subscribing and have a hell of a lot of fun driving around with this truck!

@AnYo_GiantPebble Yea if I have the time I will try out some things. If you want to build a buggy you should take a look at this one. Looks great and suspension is probably the best I have seen in Scrap Mechanic so far.

Maybe a beam axle on a bearing or the independent could you do a maybe just do the chassis I kinda want to do a buggy build but ain’t very good at suspension

During the building process I tried out different suspension techniques. Among others a "real" beam axle. I thought, why not share it with the community, even if I think this version works worse than the original one. Here is the link .
Nevertheless, I am still looking for the "perfect" suspension setup. Maybe in the future I will try a independent suspension with a sway bar or a mixed form, rear beam axle, front independent suspension. I would be happy if you let me know which setup you prefer.
