Last Will + Getting Sacked [Scripted-EN]

Description
Your uncle has died. Hooray!

This is your chance to become rich. You never knew your uncle, but you have heard stories. He was one of those millionaires who achieved staggering wealth during the development of Victorian England. He was also a bit of a hermit, too focused on his business to have any friends. On his deathbed he surveyed his vast riches and realized that he never took the time to enjoy them. And so he decided to leave his fortune to his most competent relative – the one who is the best at enjoying the pleasures money can bring. In his last will, your uncle stated that each surviving relative will receive a certain amount. Whoever can spend that amount the fastest will get the rest of the fortune. But don't think that spending all that money will be as easy as it seems.

Last Will is a race to bankruptcy. In each round, you choose a plan for the day, which determines how many options you will have available and how much time you will have for them. If you don't give yourself enough options, you might find yourself with nothing left to do after attending the theatre. If you don't set aside enough time, you might have to forgo dinner prepared by London's most famous chef or a carriage ride with a charming guest. And don't neglect your property investments. Or rather, do neglect them: once your properties depreciate, you can sell them for a pittance, bringing you that much closer to bankruptcy. Host a huge party in your mansion or take your horse on a private boat ride to the opera. The upper class lifestyle provides you many opportunities to spend your uncle's money. Just be sure to spend it fast!

Last Will is a Worker Placement/Action Selection/Hand Management game with the unusual goal of burning through all your money as fast as possible! Build a tableau of depreciating properties, wasteful luxuries, and expensive friends to watch it all drain away.

Last Will is a competitive spending game, created by Vladimir Suchy & published by Czech Games Edition. It is for 2 to 5 players with games lasting between 60 to 90 minutes based on player count. There is minimal player-to-player conflict.

Getting Sacked! Expansion
The lawyers have found a hidden clause in your uncle’s last will.
Spending money faster than all your relatives will not be enough. To inherit your uncle’s fortune, you must also lose your job.

Employment gives you an additional obstacle to overcome: you need to get sacked! You can't win until you have lost your job. As if that weren't bad enough, your job gives you extra income every turn!

This expansion adds a few more properties, events, helpers, and special cards (including a whole series of cards to pay for a wedding) Additionally, the Planning Board can be randomized to give more variety to how you can spend your day, including an option to use three Errand Boys.

####################

Plan-Order Board Mini Expansion

This mini-expansion offers a variant of Last Will that allows players to influence the order in which plans are chosen. This variant only changes the order of play in the Planning phase.

The order of play for the rest of the round is determined by the plans chosen, as in the basic version of the game. It replaces the rotating First Player token.

Mod Notes

Setup is scripted based on players with a toggle to use the Getting Sacked expansion. Ensure all players are seated prior to setup, otherwise you will not receive the starting hand (or a Job card if the expansion is active)

The Next Turn button will clear the board, returning Errand Boys and Planning Tokens, discarding any remaining cards, and dealing out new cards for offer. Decks will shuffle in discard if they are needed to setup a new turn. If a player manually empties a deck from drawing cards based on Planning Token use, you will have to manually shuffle the discard deck and place it on the snap point for the deck.

The setup script will not work if you move the decks from their current positions.

Remember to put used Wilds back onto the Wild deck before pushing the Next Turn button. Remember that you cannot hold Wild cards turn to turn, so put unused Wilds back onto the Wild deck before pushing the Next Turn button as well.

Initial turn order is determined randomly near the Plan-Order Board Mini Expansion. If you do not wish to use the Plan-Order Board, give the First Player token to the indicated first player and pass it as normal.

If you wish to use the Getting Sacked! Expansion in your own mod, copies of all the components are in the game box.

TTS and boardgames have kept many from being horribly depressed during the pandemic, and we desperately miss being able to play games in person with friends. If you like Last Will and its expansion, please buy a physical copy of it when the idea of board games at the pub isn't incredibly unsafe and irresponsible. Buy it from your local board game store if you can!

Gotcha... yep, looks like after my cache expired the Table Extension mod assets are the ones that have vanished from the web. Thanks Sharkus!

I'm not sure I have permission to update this mod anymore, but here are versions of those assets held in my own steamcloud

I believe the problem is actually with the Table Extensions mod, so those assets would need to be re-uploaded from your local copies.

@Sarcasm_Duelist

There are three missing files from Google Drive. They are all for GUID 053039, which is referenced by the Luascript as "gs_sideboard_GUID".

It seems that the script is not working. Can you guys fix it?
Sarcasm_Duelist  [author] 5 Feb, 2023 @ 6:27pm
Hmm @lordRiven, I can't reproduce this issue... I'm also not sure why an asset would be coming out of Google Drive, everything should be hosted in steamcloud. Can you give it another try?
LordRiven 5 Feb, 2023 @ 4:06pm
Game opens with a missing model, not sure which

[google drive]uc?export=download&id=1WAIqS23cQRDXSOsuEGa0NlGRAILzrIC4

and a scripting error

Sounds good, send me a private message, and we can work on it together

Hey Luiginico, I have digitized the expansion Last Will - Getting Sacked. Would you like to add it to your mod?
Werewolf Kai 13 Oct, 2020 @ 6:41am
Well, the fifth time was the charm, and the deck finally loaded. The original mod owner checked their links and they were all good, so this was just my own issue with TTS I suppose.

Has anyone happened across a fix for the Helper deck not displaying any front images? I can eventually see them when I SEARCH the deck, but they never populate the card fronts. I'm still looking for the earlier versions of the mod looking for details, but in case anyone else has figured it out, feel free to crosspost here! :D
The scripted setup and minor tweaks are fantastic.
