Grant's Idrisids (Idriss I)

Like the Caliphate of Córdoba in Spain, Morocco found its origin in a descendant of the prophet fleeing from the destructive wars that rose the Abbasids to power. Under Imam Idris, the Berbers of Morocco unified under Islam and rivalled the power of Harun Al-Rashid, leading to the Imam's assassination. While the dynasty ended and the Almoravids succeeded them, the legacy of Idris' Dynasty - the Idrisids - is found in the old streets of Fez and across the modern nation.
