Global Soviet Union

Description
The Soviet Union has united the planet under communism!
Now the citizens of Socialist Earth take the glorious red flag to the cosmos.

What you'll find:

-> Soviet Names for Ships - a mix of historically used names with speculative names for an USSR that governs the Earth and space colonies.

-> Soviet Names for Planets - using ideas from historical references, socialist names, and soviet sci-fi.

-> Soviet Names for Leaders - Historical soviet nationality names have higher probability to appear (Slavic, Caucasian, Baltic, Central Asian), but all other cultures of the world are still represented, with some extra historically relevant names thrown in for flavour.

-----☭-----☭-----☭-----

More specifically, the mod is composed of two name lists:

- "Humans (CCCP)" has names in Russian with latin alphabet transliteration (ex: Moskva and Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya)

- "Humans (USSR)" has names in English (ex: Moscow and October Revolution)

-----☭-----☭-----☭-----

Known bugs: none so far. Neither English nor Russian are my first languages, however, so mistakes and typos are possible

Compatibility: it introduces two files called HUMAN4 and HUMAN5 so anything that uses the same file names will conflict with this.

Achievments: it breaks them, because name lists break the checksum. Yes it is absurd.

Credits: This mod took plenty of inspiration/ideas from two existing mods.

Hey, there seems to be a problem with localisation when it comes to army names. In a recent patch, Paradox changed the formatting of how army names are coded. I believe this had something to do with %O% being replaced with %ORD%. Now all the armies show up as "%SEQ%" in-game. The rest works fine however. Please take a look at this issue if you have time to do so. Thank you!

Hey @redragons those were pretty good. The mod doesn't have any way of including empire descriptions (it's not an empire mod) but those can easily be adapted by anyone interested. I'd recommend you make empire mods actually, you clearly have the talent.

Regardless of who started the genocidal earth conflict the Soviets were better prepared with a vast system of underground shelters that started a new, if cloistered life for its much reduced population. There was no salvaging for Earth as the once vibrant and alive human home world fell into a permanent nuclear winter that may not end for millennia. Other survivors had but no choice but to submit to the last hope of humanity. Primitive as they were the Old Soviets had been the first human entity to enter space, with no recovery on the horizon Earth scientists began investigations into FTL technology. In a painful process that took centuries, beleaguered humans have finally found the key to space. Can the United Soviets start anew or will they create new Tomb Worlds in their wake?

Tomb World Soviets:
Humanity has already come close to extinction once, and as a consequence has no fear in looking towards the Cosmos. At a time when prosperous unification may had been in view an atomic 'Cold War' on earth became hot in the human year of 1983. In an hour 25% of humanity were vaporized off the surface, another 60% died painful deaths in ensuing orbital cycles
The human Soviet government claims to this day that its ermines started the conflict, but leaked sources claim otherwise...
