Knightmare Defense Industries presents the Eridania Class Destroyer II. The Eridania II is a refit of the original Eridania, produced for the MCRN. Changes include adjustments to the hull, a new Gyro bay, a completely redone interior, increased fuel capacity, and improved forward thrust. The class is a well-rounded fleet workhorse, capable of a variety of operations. While the ship is capable of lifting off of any planet, it is not equipped for landing and requires modification to do so. The Eridania II is part of KDI's G3 Fleet, a new, more standardized fleet of ships made to fulfill KDI's needs. The class is named for the Eridania Quadrangle of Mars.

The Eridania II uses a complex Hydrogen-Ion Drive, which produces 106 MN of force, propelling it along at just over 2 G's. The ship's Jump Drive are capable of a maximum jump distance of 3,862. The ship carries 32 large turrets, 16 Gatling and 16 Missile, with 9 Interior Turrets and 12 forward facing Rocket Launchers. Power is supplied by 2 Large Reactors with several Small Reactors and Batteries as backup. The ship's hull is mostly light armor, with a few layers of heavy armor at the front and around critical ship components. The ship has a small hangar, medical bay, basic refinery, assembler and survival kit. There are also parachutes at the front in case of emergency, but landing gears should be attached to the bottom of the ship if you intend to land on planets.

The ship is built fully vanilla and survival ready, with an interior in the style of "The Expanse." I use a light changing script to switch around the interior light settings. Its an older script and I couldn't find the original creator. The script was updated by ColTeH for my use. I used some of Whiplash141's scripts on the ship, including their braking script for "flip and burn" situations, and a few of their mods for taking the screenshots. The mods I used to assist with the screenshots came recommended by Taidyr, who makes some fantastic content as well. I used Darth Biomech's Milky Way Skybox mod as well. Links below. I got inspiration for this ship from ships shown in The Expanse RPG book, I highly recommend The Expanse's books and show.

Please feel free to modify the ship to fit your in game needs. Just be sure to give credit to the original creator.

Author's Notes
Seems like I'm starting to do a lot more refits. Some turn out better than others, and I think the Eridania II is one of the better ones. The hull hasn't seen too many changes, but the interior has been completely redone. I had done a KDI/KMI version of the original, but I prefer to upload things that are more unique, and that one was just a simple recolor. You can see it in the images above though. I almost renamed this ship, but I felt it had a solid legacy, and that changing the name would be more confusing anyways. Also I really like the name, definitely a personal favorite. To be honest, I was kind of worried that this version wasn't different enough, but the changes made I feel are substantial enough and overall beneficial. Plus I needed a decent destroyer for the new KDI G3 Fleet, and the Eridania was by far the leading choice, the Arion, Orion, and Kelpie being outdated. The Kelpie II, well... its functional, but Im not super satisfied with how it turned out looking back. So that left the Eridania, which was fast, well armed, durable, etc. It does everything a fleet workhorse needs to. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it.

If you have any questions, comments or feedback about the ship, please leave them in the comments below. I'm always looking to improve upon my work. If you enjoy the Eridania Class Destroyer II, likes are greatly appreciated. Thank you for browsing this item. Safe Voyages! Papple.

@Roshaun9087 I would like to, but I have a lot of projects I want to work on atm and I'm really swamped. It may happen, but it might be a little while.

@Kev1n8088 No worries. I've been hesitant to use those hangar doors for that reason. Given that they can be replaced with the vanilla doors, I decided to start using them.

Edit: I realized that I don't have the DLCs, thats probably the part thats missing. Sorry!

Hi, I love your ships, but are the hangar doors not supposed to close? When I hit the hangar door button in the hangar it says activation failed. If you could tell me how to fix it that would be great! Thanks in advance!
