MV Victoria (A Traditional Diesel Ferry) READ DESCRIPTION ABOUT NEW UPDATE

Description
Hello Everyone

Due to the current Update (version 1) the ferry has been having trouble with engine cooling. I have addressed the problem is its working fine now but if you get any problems with it please let me know. PLEASE REMEMBER TO UPDATE THIS VEHICLE REGULARLY AS IM FIXING THE COOLING ISSUE NOW!!!

This is a small passenger vessel, designed to ferry people from island to island in Stormworks. This Ship is based off MV Tern one of the oldest ships built in 1891 and still running on Windermere today. Have a look at some of the other boats and ships on Windermere they really lovely vessels.

Important - For anyone wondering what the 2 batteries connected to the shore power are for heres your explaination:

in order to start the generator you need power to the fuel/cooling systems. The boat I based the electric system off does not use batteries like most boats in Stormworks use. This boat requires you to either start the emergency generator temporarily, or use the shore power. Atm there is no default electrical supplies at the docks in Stormworks so I fitted two batteries to provide a "simulated shore power". When you have the generator started you can just throw these into dockside as they are not needed on the boat.

Also due to the winch ropes having no collision mesh that anchor currently glitched through the ships hull once it is disconnected for the electrical connector at the port side of the vessel. I've tested a few different things but I really like the look at the anchor secured to the side of the vessel so I decided to keep this. If you do use the anchor you can just raise it and it will sit under the hull with no issue.

Top Speed = 30kts

Tips for docking the ferry in Stormworks

Docking portside too -

1 slow down and approach slowly

2 put the wheel hard to starboard

3 Go dead slow ahead on the port engine

4 Go dead slow astern on the starboard engine

5 doing this will push the stern of the ship towards the dock

6 use the bow thruster to move the bow to port by slowly apply port thrust

7 balance the amount of thrust and engine power to ensure the vessel moves slowly sideways

8 stop both engines and thrust when the ship is about 0.5m away from the dock

As always please do not re-upload

Hi Mr Garfield. The boat i based this on does not have lifeboats instead it has hydrostatic self inflating liferafts. I didnt add lifeboats because the ship was starting to lag with all the logic so i just created some decorative liferafts instead which allows the ship to be used in MP without it laggy too much. Thanks.
