Storm On The Horizon - Tanoan Conflicts [Global Mobilization Ver.]

Description
DISCLAIMER: THIS MOD REQUIRES THE "GLOBAL MOBILIZATION" CDLC

Tanoa, 198X

Government forces wage a bloody civil war against a recently established insurgent faction fighting for the collectivisation of important Tanoan industries amidst a general economic depression.

The so-called „Revolutionary Forces of the Horizon Islands“ (RFHI) have, in the past few weeks, hit local institutions and international companies on Tanoa with bombings and kidnappings in order to destabilize the authoritan government. RHFI is rumored to have strong ties to local organized crime and is especially active on the islands of the Tanoan archipelago. Their arms and equipment are allegedly procured from the black market, no external backing is supposed to exist. While RFHI publicly displays a "communist" ideology, their true intentions are up for debate.

The Horizon Island’s geopolitical situation is dire: diplomatic relations to NATO-aligned allies (especially France as former colonial ruler) are deteriorating after several past coup-attempts (one successful) by the armed forces. The newly appointed government is underhandedly seeking new allies within the Soviet Union and states of the eastern bloc (including the GDR and China), mainly to procure weapons for their power-hungry military. While the Horizon Islands are certainly not a socialist state in alignment to Soviet doctrine, the eastern bloc is happy to oblige in exchange for foreign currency.

Thus, the „Horizon Islands Army“ (HIA) - in addition to their existing western armament - has recently been equipped with eastern vehicles and weapons that the West was unwilling to openly provide and is looking to exterminate the internal threat of RFHI with impunity and no mercy towards civilian "collaborators".

Involvement in human rights violations has been reported for both parties.

Rumors of secret NATO-backed involvement on the side of HIA against a) RFHI and b) a further shift to the East continue to persist.

Fast forward to the 21st century...

The Horizon Islands, now firmly NATO-aligned, are in turmoil once again.

Having taken part in several international peace-keeping missions in recent years, Horizon Islands Armed Forces have been equipped with new equipment and vehicles from allied nations such as the US, Israel and Germany. Once again however, their opponent is an internal one. Drug cartels and other criminal factions have rallied under the banner of "Syndikat" to threaten stability on the archipelago. As the conflict escalates, independant observers take note of increasing ruthlessness on both sides.

This mod adds several factions with equipment appropriate to the respective eras they are supposed to exist in

5) Tucan Oil Security Services (Modern) - Independent and OPFOR

Very good mod! If you accept suggestions, Anti syndicat spec ops could use the latest GM update commando vests.

Oh and @max I've been keeping up with the work you've been doing with the mod on Discord, gotta say all this new stuff is incredibly based.

@max Hey there just so you know there is a bug with the Iltis in the Tanoa 80s faction, the interior of the vehicle doesn't render at all. I think it's just a GM issue though, I find that any mod that includes that vehicle, and has not been updated to GM 1.5, has that bug. It's really a small thing though, so please don't worry too much about it :)

@Jooj: Yeah, update is in the works (not sure how quick i will be able to release after 1.5 is out). Will definitely switch over to the GM HK33 and use HK21 instead of MG3 for 80s Horizon Islands Army.

Could we expect an overhaul with GM update 1.5 around the corner? Especially with the new HKs

Good Mod even better with the HK 33. Would it be possible to make an EBR Version of it to make it capable to handle modern optics and a silencer? I think it would be a good Edition for 2035 Tucan Security or some mercenaries.
