Description
Update 8/8/14 - added the Sparrow and Fury fighters, replaced the cockpits of several fighters with the sleeker one by Darth Biomech

(left to right in screenshot)
top row: Pegasus Gunship, Osprey Gunship, Peregrin Strike Fighter, Strix Light Fighter, Strix II (compact), Sparrow Fighter Trainer
bottom row: Fury Interceptor, Roc Fighter, Vulture Lateral Fighter, Falcon Interceptor, Pelican Lateral Bomber, Eagle Fighter

Pegasus Gunship

Mass: 51k kg
Acceleration: 11m/s^2
Weapons: 2 guns, 2 launchers
Seats: 1 pilot, 1 copilot, 10 passengers

The Pegasus was meant to be a more reliable transport than the Osprey Gunship by making use of dedicated passenger seats rather than an open hold. It is however a larger target and has less weapons than the Osprey, so it functions more as a dedicated transport whereas the Osprey can more easily double as a heavy fighter

Osprey Gunship

Mass - 50k kg
Acceleration - 6 m/s^2
Weapons - 3 guns, 6 rockets
Carry Capacity - about 2-3 space engineers

(the Osprey is based on the Valkyrie transports from Warhammer 40k)

The Osprey is built for one purpose - to deliver a heavy payload to the battlefield. Whether that payload is in firepower or manpower makes no difference, as the Osprey is built to perform both. It performs its role best in sieges of enemy stations, where it can quickly blow away defenses and then deploy troops to head inside.

Peregrin Strike Fighter

Weight: 54k kg
Acceleration: 17 m/s^2
Weapons: 9 rocket launchers (screenshot)

This craft was designed to be highly aggressive, which is reflected in its weapons, look, and speed. it is the heaviest hitting of all my fighters. although designed to take on large ships, it should perform well as an interceptor if rockets are traded for guns
this particular look was based on the general style of Eldar fighters from 40k

Strix Light Fighter, Strix II Compact Version
Weight 23.4k kg
Acceleration: 13.4 m/s^2
Weapons: 2 launchers, 2 guns

The Strix was designed to help add a defensive aspect to outer rim expansion efforts. It was designed to be less about performance and more about fuel economy, as it is very easy to maintain with limited resources. Still, the strix is a highly manueverable fighter, and special attention was given to the ventral thrusters. Because of this, pilots who keep targets at their 12 o clock will find it easy to manuever through tight areas and follow their prey.

Fury Interceptor

Mass: 16,346 kg
Acceleration: 29.67 m/s^2
Weapons: 4 guns, 2 rockets
Ammunition Capacity: 14 small containers

made especially for frigate class hangars, the Fury was made to be highly compact and manueverable.

Roc Fighter

Mass - 43k kg
Acceleration - 17.5 m/s^2
Weapons - 2 guns, 4 rockets

fast and agile, this fighter is designed to chase down enemy fighter craft and blast them apart

Vulture Lateral Fighter

Weight: 47k kg
Acceleration: 12.4m/s (forward), 10.3m/s^2 (side)
Weapons: 4 guns, 2 rockets

the Vulture is meant to be a form of interceptor like the Falcon. while slower to accelerate forward, it features faster acceleration to the side (thus the combat designation) which gives it a more unique feature in dogfights and may be preferred by some pilots

Falcon Interceptor

Weight: 44k kg
Acceleration: 27.6 m/s^2
Weapons: 4 guns, 2 launchers

The Falcon was designed to combat a recent growth in extremely small and highly manueverable fighters made by other factions. It is for this purpose that the Falcon is faster and more manueverable than all other Phoenix fighters.

Pelican Lateral Bomber

Mass - 51k kg
Acceleration - 16.2 m/s^2
Weapons - 8 downward facing rocket launchers

The Pelican was designed to strafe enemy vessels and fire vertically against them while doing so. It has 8 downward facing rocket launchers for this purpose

Eagle Fighter

Mass - 44k kg
Acceleration - 8.8 m/s^2
Payload (not including slots under wings) - 4 rocket launchers, 4 guns

The Eagle was the first fighter model produced by Phoenix Shipyards. It was quickly made obselete, but recent renovations have managed to help it keep up with other fighters.

that's fine, all of these fighters are obsolete anyway, so seeing someone make good use of them is always nice.

I love the super fast one (I don't recall what you called it. Its got the three Large Thrusters, 4 GAt guns and dual Missle launchers. I tweaked it to use the fighter cockpit and then made am unarmed "Civilian" model. I'm going to get them up on my worksup and I'll link them back here if its Ok with you.

all ships fire forward except the pelican which is designed specifically for downward firing. however, i just tested it and the osprey, peregrin, and strix are having issues that did not exist before. i think it may have something to do with cockpit hitboxes as rockets near cockpits is what these 3 have in common. hopefully it will get fixed soon or else ill look into redesigning them around this

Nice ships. But why are a lot of the rocketlaunchers built in the wrong direction?
