Revelation Assault Carrier (new)

Description
[interplanetary][100+ craft][still no hydrogen][vanilla][dlc][survival ready]
[taaaaaags][why][do][][keep][doing][this][?]

------------------------------------------------

This is a world file. Use the "Revelation Spawn" medbay to get to the ship.
If you just want to explore the ship I recommend turning it into a station.
Tilt engines won't work if the ship is a station!

A blueprint of the ship can be found here:

https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2233010258

-------------

Hold on to your horses, especially the apocalyptic ones.
It's the Revelation again.

But this time it's even more bad, or something.

-------------

Okay, it's the Revelation, so there is not much new stuff to talk about. Except there is!

You see, this is not just a retrofitted version of the ship. This is a completely new build
that uses the old exterior design. The inside and layout has changed completely.

But it keeps all the stuff you liked from the old ship.

To control the ship, you will need to use the remote control block either from the seat on
the bridge or from the seat in the CORE room.

The engines are still tiltable and can still be operated while moving. They are a new
configuration that gives more power at the same space requirement. That meant that I had
a lot more mass to play with when building the ship.
As you might expect, that lead to the ship being considerably heavier, than the old one.
The maximum recommended mass jumped up to 65,000,000.00kg.

But all this new mass didn't get wasted of course.

It is more durable,
it has decoy launchers,
it has more defense turrets,
it jumps further,
it carries more ground vehicles,
it carries more fighters,
it carries more drones,
it carries more corvettes,
it carries better dropships,
It carries more troops,
IT HAS GRAVITY SHIELDING NOW!

For a more detailed description of the ships capabilities please refer to the
discussion topics below.

-------------

And for all the stats nerds out there:

Dimensions:

Length: 217 blocks (542.5m)
-incl. Antennas: 235 incl. antennas (587.5m)

Width: 43 blocks (107.5m)

Height: 64 blocks (160m)
-incl. Antennas: 74 blocks (185m)

Mass:
-empty: 56,500,000.00kg
-max recommended: 65,000,000.00kg
-max theoretical takeoff: 76,000,000.00kg

Approx. Mass of all ships: 4.000.000,00kg
Additional cargo mass: 4.500.000,00kg

Jump Distance: ~4000km (at max recommended mass)

-------------

More stats:

242x large ion engine (216x tilting)
246x small ion engine (216x tilting)
80x large atmospheric thruster
138x small atmospheric thruster
104x jump drive
20x gatling turret
248x interior turret
110x crew beds
480x cryo pod
6x oxygen tank
2x large hydrogen tank
2x oxygen generator
4x large cargo container

-------------

5 different hangar decks with room for;
- 4 large grid corvettes
- 2 civilian shuttles
- 4 dropships
- 32 drones
- 64 fighters

-------------

Airlocks and a pressurised interior are of course in there.
Button panels are located all over the place.
Lights aplenty.
LCD screens to make sure you won't get lost.
Most timer blocks are located in a control room on a small grid to save space.

-------------

To bring this to an end, it's basically a Revelation on steroids. Just like I always wanted!
Feel free to ask any questions you might have in the comments.

Thanks for reading this mess and thank you for the appreciation on the old Revelation.
Without that I probably would have never finished this one.

------------------------------------------------

P.S.
Personally I still would not call this a "supercarrier", but for a normal carrier this
ship carries acceptable amounts of ships.

You load a whole bunch of really dense stuff into the cargo containers. That's what you do. Like platinum ingots or something.

The margin between recommended mass and theoretical maximum is there to give you a reasonable stopping distance. If you load up to theoretical maximum, you can still hover, but not really slow down any more, which means you crash, when you try to land.

But taking off with that mass might still be possible, since there might be a miniscule amount of extra thrust, that isn't used to make you hover.

And of course the recommended mass includes all the ships. They cant just all undock, to let you land. The carrier must be able to land with it's full complement of ships aboard, otherwise it is no gud.

I just realized that the max recommended takeoff weight is the same as the empty ship plus all the other ships and the additional cargo mass. Which makes me wonder what you have to do to get it to the max theoretical takeoff.

If you really wanted to pack some extra punch, you could fill it up with more ships, but I think this area is a good addition on a carrier.

Also the connectors are all on the bottom, because it has to work in an atmosphere with ships that are potentially damaged. So a dock that is open and you can essentially just fall onto is much easier to get to, than a dock, that is under a ceiling in some hangar deep inside the ship.

Hell, if you wanted you could even park vehicles up there. They also fit on the connectors.
Or you can put more fighters into the garage, if you hate driving.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

It's a pit stop area, as you suspected.

Thats why all small craft have their connector on the bottom, so every ship can theoretically use every dock. If for example some of the dropship hangar got destroyed you still have a place to put a few dropships.

That's why I dont have ships with connectors in different directions. It's standardised.

I was just looking at the flight deck on the top of the ship, and realised that there are no dedicated craft for that area. Is that area supposed to be a "pit stop" for the craft to recharge and rearm without having to go into the hanger? Because if it's supposed to have dedicated craft, the numbers should go up to is 80 fighters and 5 corvettes with the rest staying the same.

I once saw this as the Infinity. A lifeboat for the whole UNSC (or whatever faction is has here). Humongous and capable of holding a FLEET! I now see I was wrong. This is merely the size of an Autumn Class Light Cruiser. The Vanquisher will be HUMONGOUS! Good luck, and thank you!

Damn, the man is trying to build what even an I9-12900K would see in its worst nightmares... Respect for your amazing ship, once again

I can't even dock all the ships to it on my PC.

Also at one point I was working on a battleship in the same style, but never finished it.
I am currently on a bit of a Space Engineers break, playing some other games.I don't know when willI publish something else. I am not very consistant with uploads at the best of times and also only publish things that I think are something special (for me at least).
Before the break I did build some survival stuff, but that was nothing you can't already find on the workshop.

And I was working on a new carrier, but that got seriously out of hand and I would need to have a better PC to finish it. So that's on hold aswell.
