SM Shattered Retreat

Description
Port from CK2, Reduces the distance of shattered retreat so units don't flee unrealistically to other sides of the map, and instead flee to the next county.

Now you can focus on fighting!

Mechanics
Reduces preferred retreat distance to 2 provinces from 7
Reduces max retreat distance from 15 to max 6
This results in a retreat to about 1-2 counties away.

@General Kysieran
The game sees it as an error and it clutters the error.log file

@BallsOfSteelBaby:
What is the reasoning for this? That is only normally required for localization files?

@Leon
There was an issue which meant it wasn't. Now should be working regardless if you on latest or sticking to 1.0.

Does this work with the new update?

The one thing never dealt with that well with a Shattered Retreat is that an army that has lost cohesion and is on the run will not spend time to break their camp and get their wagons. The tactic of going around an army to capture its supply train encampment was one that could disorganize an army and cause it to shatter, even if it was numerically superior as it was out of supplies. Charles Martel used that tactic to good effect, and was able to get quite a bit of cash and other goods in the bargain. I would have expected this from the old Trickster trait or someone with Flanker and Strategist, who would know that logistics keeps the army in the field and the most vulnerable part of an army is the supply train keeping it fed and supplied in the field.

I still have sometimes the feeling I can just kill them battle after battle.
I don't know much about medieval warfare and what happened after loosing a battle, but it makes sense that loosing a battle made loosing another one, probably even while trying to get away more likely

@Nick:
If you are losing, it makes it a bit harder to escape/make a come back.
If you are winning, it will be a bit easier to chase down those armies.

But the shatter is still there. It brings a bit more realism to the mechanic while not completely disabling it, but ditto everything ajacksonian just said.

The shattered retreat mechanics have never been that good in CKII, they need a serious revamp. A shattered unit isn't a cohesive force and a commander should be able to set a rally point to regroup the unit and slowly let lost soldiers bring it back up so some level of capacity, though one with low morale. If the regrouping unit isn't moved, then it should regain morale slowly and become a useful unit in a few weeks to a month...not like when it first set out, though. When units flee further than they have marched to get to a battle, that's just insane, a unit so deeply shattered won't reform, basically dissolving into men desperately trying to get home. The old Organizer skill should have some effect on that, so that a shattered retreat turns into a tactical retreat which is organized.

How balanced is this
